Reed's mom, I feel your pain. I have posted under a couple of other recent blogs, maybe reading some of the other mom's responses and mine will help you feel better. Some recruiters are better than others, and you will find through your travels through the Navy pipeline that there are MANY frustrating things that we (and our Sailors) just have NO control over. Take a deep breath and know that tomorrow will be better...

Thank you ebigirl ...I understand...and it is overwhelming...I am a single mom of 3 boys, my oldest is now in GL BC...and I have a 15yr old in hi school, and I am homeschooling my 9yr old, (as best I can)...I am disabled, I have M.S. and multiple other health problems, its hard for me to read/keep up with all these posts...dont have time, or in too much pain to sit and read them :(  I am very greatful for this site, and all of you who do help me thru this most difficult time...and I know I shouldnt feel the way I do at times...I just feel so helpless at times...I know that God is carring my son and all the others...I just have a hard time coping sometimes...thank you for your kind words dear...

Your very welcome. Your son is is VERY good hands! He's in the safest place he could be right now. I share some of the same medical issues as you do...but my son is my only child. I was GLUED to this site for the entire 8 weeks he was in bootcamp. I was totally surprised at my reaction to my son being gone as he had already moved out of the house before he signed up for the Navy.

You have every right to feel the way that you do. Your a mom amd nothing will ever change that. It's hard to let go...but when your son is done with bc, you will be very surprised at what the Navy does with our kids in 8-9 short weeks. It is truly amazing!!

It is taking its toll on me...he is my "rock", been thru so much with me...I feel lost without him sometimes...I miss him soo much...he has been at home all of his 19yrs...I can count the times he has been away from home...none this long, especially without talking to him...and now...he's just gone :'(   He is a remarkable young man, he has always been mature for his age, learned so much, so fast...took some college courses at the age of 13...he is such a wonderful young man...but he is still my "baby boy"...and thank you for telling me that I have the right to feel the way I do...I needed to hear that right now...
and right now, I have been up soo long, so I know that I need some sleep, but my mind is just going round and round :(

I felt lost without mine also. I'm going to send you a message and "friend" you if that's ok. You just need to click your response on your "my page" on the right side of the screen where it says "friends".

Reed's mom my SR left for boot camp on march 6th and I understand what you are going through. I was reading how the other moms We're getting there boxes and info a lot faster then I did. I never recieved my Kid in a box at all. I found out it was sent to him address a college. He thought it would be easier for me if his room mate brought it to me. Then for me to be alone when it came to the house. (he was right) It was hard. When I finally got his address and PIR date there was a short note on the back from my son. I have received several letters from him since but I am like a kid at Christmas when I see him writing on that mail in my mail box. I received a phone call from him on Monday and it has just made my week. The one comment he made was "mom keep the letters coming because I need to hear for you as much as you need to hear from me! I need to know that ya'll at home are doing ok to!" So I write every couple of days. Hang in there!
