Navy For Moms

I have missed Chris' calls three weeks in a row. So, it's been a month since I last spoke to him. I get little bits and pieces of updates from Corey, his brother, and his fiance', Kelsey, that he's doing okay. I miss him terribly and I hope he calls today.

"A" school has been hard and I hear that he is moving right a log with his class. I also hear that graduation from A school is sometime Sept.-Oct. time frame. I can't wait to see him! I miss him SO much that it physically hurts sometimes. My baby boy is growing up and I'm not there to see it all. I know that it sounds like I'm whining but we, as Navy parents, have brought our sailors into the world hoping that we tought them the things that they need to know and now the Navy has taken over this stage in their lives. What's a mom to do but cry and be proud!

I know how you must be feeling, my son just left on Thursday but I already miss him so much. I know what you mean about baby boy growing up and not being able to see it. Trent is my next to youngest of 7 children and has always been one of my babies (he would hate me saying that). I am so proud of him for making the decsion to join the navy but like you said, it hurts sometimes. Hang in there, the time will fly by and you will be able to see him.

Thanks for your kind words. Chris didn't call but that means he was busy...probably on watch or something. I know he'll call when he can...I just hope I am home to catch the call. Just last week I was consoling a friend at work that has a son in the Coast Guard. She didn't get her call either. I told her that I try to live by the "No news is good news" moto. Now it's time for me to live by those words. Thanks again for your kind words!
