It's been 1 week, 5 days and I'm terribly missing my 19 yr. old daughter.  I could only imagine what's going on in her head, the challenges, the ups & downs of boot camp - I could only pray that she is strengthen mentally, emotionally & physically.  This is the girl that tried so hard in 1 year to get a job but unsuccessful,  so she never held a job so I just hope that she is adapting in this "new world".  Our last night, saying good-bye at the hotel was the hardest thing,  I felt like she was a little girl all over again and we were not gonna let go of each other.  We were in front of the elevator (I was not allowed to come near her hotel room)  and we didn't care who was watching us,  we cried and it was sooo sad.  See, my daughter had a very tumultuous year and thank God after many upheavals she finally realized that the NAVY is the answer to her prayers.  She wrote that this is just the beginning of what her mission in life should be.  My daughter will be a core man and eventually would like to be a pediatric nurse.  God Bless our Sailors!  I'm here waiting for the day we board the plane to Great Lakes and envisioning the transformation of my daughter from a child to a woman.  What a day that would be!  I'll make sure to bring some kleenex!

Hang in there; it will get better. Being able to write to her will help and as the week's go on and you hear more from her, it will help as well.  Stay busy and learn what you can about what is happening at BC and what she will be doing and know that there is more communication at "A" School.  (((((Tiare224))))) That's a cyber hug from one Navy Mom to another.

You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. If you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that if it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

You may also want to check out Women in the Navy, Mom’s of Navy Daughters, and Mom's of Daughters 2.

SInce she will be aHospital Corpsman (HM), sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio.

Tiare, we all understand what you are going through. I wish I could tell you that the days will fly by but they don't. Not in boot camp at least for me! Just write to your daughter every day. It was like therapy for me. She will be fine and you will too. We are all here for you....I send you a HUGE HUG!

Tiare- my daughter has been in bc for exactly 2 weeks and 5 days- it gets easier- once you receive your first call home- and hear her voice- and know in your heart she's ok- it'll get easier- keep writing- join the various groups-- and start planning for PIR- and before you know it- the time will fly- It seems for me once I finally received her form letter- time has been flying- I've been staying busy and writing her everyday-  Good luck to you and your daughter!

hugs for everyone and thank you all for the kinds words of encourgement :-)  I haven't heard yet from my daughter, it's been almost 3 weeks,  GOd I hope everything is good..I reserved our tickets last night virgin america has great rates, hotel done!, car rental done!  I can't wait my countdown says 46 days and counting.  i've already written to her but today is the mark of my daily letters on my lunch break,  even short notes will be done - promised!  my co-worker suggested to put "boy band" stickers..lol, scented stickers...all great ideas!

Ms Liz..I think our daughters left the same time - we live in the LA area.  So, we might be going to the same BC. :-)

Tiare, I still would like to invite you to join at least Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the members) and discussions there.  The other groups above will also be of interest to you.

Since you know her PIR date, join the group for that.  By the dates you give, I would think she is in either the 04/26/2013 or the 05/03/2013 TG, so join PIR 04/26/2013 TG 24 - 11 Divisions (157-166 and 924) or PIR 05/03/2013 TG 25 - 11 Divisions (167-176 and 925) to to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  BC is at Great Lakes for all Navy Recruits, so perhaps you mean PIR rather than BC in your comment above, Liz'znom will be attending the 05/10/2013 PIR; if that is your daughter's PIR date, join the group, PIR 05/10/2013 TG 26 11 Divisions (177-186 and 926).

Tiare, you are very welcome. I see you joined PIR 05/10/2013 TG 26 11 Divisions (177-186 and 926), but I don't find you in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).
