For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son left for boot camp on 2/26/18. Still no address has been giving to me as of today :(. Does anyone know about how long it takes to receive their address?

Hi Carol Nav18 welcome to BCM.
Your recruit will mail the form letter, which will include the address, to you on day P-4 or P-5. (You can find a copy of the current form letter in the Page, The Form Letter. The brochure that is included from MWRGL about hotels and other things is at RTC Friends and Family Brochure July 2017 rev.pdf.) The average time to receive the form letter for those with a recruit in a regular division is 10 days after arrival.
a Recruit Mail Petty Officer has been trained in how to handle mail, which means it is usually sometime in the third week or later (1-3 or 1-4 DOT) when they start receiving mail depending on when P-days ended and the division formed.
If you receive a "real" letter without receiving the form letter, don't worry. Determine if there is another person that your recruit would have sent the form letter to and ask to see it. If no one received a form letter,
There are times that a form letter is not sent by accident if a recruit was one of the last to fill a division (usually a Push Division or if a recruit was moved from one division to another at the end of P-days) and the form letters were already sent out by the others in the division. Some recruits have not sent the form letter because they had a medical or dental appointment or were being interviewed for security clearance when the form letters were being sent.
It is very important that you let your recruit know if no form letter is received because you need to send back the security form that comes with The Form Letter in order to obtain the tickets for PIR.

My daughter left for RTC on 2/26 too and I have not yet received the form letter. I am going to try to be patient for a few mores days. Maybe tomorrow will be the day.

Since it has been at least 2 calendar weeks since your recruit arrived at the RTC and you do not have a form letter, then you can call the recruiter and get the address and mail letters to your recruit, but be sure to double-check the address against those at http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/faq.html#contacting_recruits or Ship/Division--How it Works.

If you do not receive the form letter, then print out the Security Access Form and complete it and send it to your recruit.
