My daughter left and reported on November 13 and we got her phone call that she was safe and sound on November 14th.

I haven't heard from her since.  I have no idea what to expect and when she might call again.  Haven't got her address to send things to her, letters.  She did say it might be a while though.

We did get her box back a week later with all her stuff.

I am at a loss... can anyone help with what I can expect or when I might get to talk to her?

Hi Tami and Welcome to Navy Moms. Communication will begin around the third week of her being in BC. On the 5th business day of her arriving she will take her first PFA if she passed then 9-14 days after you should receive her Form letter which will have her PIR date and address info.

See Arrival and What Happens at RTC and Ship/Division--How it Works.

See Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and Fitness Improvement Training (FIT)

let me know if I can be of any help.

You are welcome, it can be very overwhelming but staying busy will occupy your mind. The saying here is" No News is Good News". easier said than done though. Let me know how I can assist you. These site will help answer some questions as well. There is alot of reading but with that comes Knowledge.

Thank you Thank you!

Just writing here makes me feel better.  It's the not knowing that makes me crazy.  I know shes in good, great hands and doing what she wants to do!

We understand your anxiety we were all in your shoes at one point. Letters and calls will come  but they are never frequent or long enough in my opinion. It gets better as they get closer to graduation. Hang in there!

Thank you everyone!  Just knowing there is a place to talk and that I am not alone is great. Thank you for the pages to read and look over while I am pondering things... it helps knowing what to write and proper forms to fill out.  Please keep notes coming!

Hang in there. I am new to this whole thing myself. The hardest part is watching your child go through these many changes and being able to be there. My son is going through a tough time right now. He is set to graduate next Friday.( Lets hope) His date got pushed back and he is very homesick and depressed. I know that this is the best thing for him, and he is in good hands. Its hard to support our kids through snail mail!! I've found a lot of support though this site. I have learned that no news is good news!!

I am sorry to hear your son is having a hard time.  I'm sure he will tough it out and hopefully be ready to graduate!  Good luck!  Yes no news is good news I have heard so that is settling but still just want to hear her voice and a "hi momma, I love you"!  Here is you need anything so new too but can support or lend an ear
