OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello everyone!

As many of you have probably noticed, Ning has updated the Latest Activity feature on the site. This is the box that appears on the top of each of each of your pages that shows your recent activity on the site – who’s pages you’ve commented on, what photos you have uploaded, which discussions you have started, etc. Along with new icons, you are now able to see more details about each action that is listed. If you click here you can read more about it. There are also instructions on how to make adjustments to your settings so you can control which updates are posted for others to read.

Enjoy!

Wanda - This is something that has been pushed through by Ning that I have no control over. It's one of many updates that is on the way, including improvements to chat and updates to the music, photo, and video players.

I'm not sure about the new format either but like Wanda mentioned some change is good. It does take some time getting used to the new changes.

Kathleen--if it's really private, be sure and use the "send a message" area under their name--that goes directly to their e-mail and does not show up on posted page.

Shell -

Great suggestion about moving the Latest Activity box to the left column. :)

Jean C--I've had terrible time with chat since it's update. Elle is aware of our pain of withdrawal from chat. I don't think it matters who your carrier is--it knocks off part of your comments (half sentences only make it through) and it keeps on knocking me off or freezing my entire computer.
