I have missed that voice...

Our phone call came yesterday about 3:30 as I was getting ready to go to a wedding for my SR's classmate... very thankful I hadn't started my makeup yet!

He sounded so good yet, bad all at the same time.  It was great to hear his voice, but ripped my heart because I could tell he was tired and sick.  He said everyone is sick, colds and sore throats... pink eye & chicken pox going around... very thankful he doesn't have that though!!

It was a very short call.  Said that when the other calls went out, he was in SIQ from getting his wisdom teeth pulled. :(  You know that's hard on a momma, your kid has teeth pulled, sick... and you can't do anything about it :(  Just gotta put my hope and trust that they are taking care of him good and proper!!

In the 5 minute talk... I found out that he is doing great, passed all his tests, and that HELL WEEK is next week, but once that is over it will all get better.  -- I had heard that they break them down first, then build them back up and that's when the fun stuff starts.  That will be easier to deal with knowing they are getting to breath a little easier!

My daughter was with me when he called... but I was so overwhelmed that I forgot to put it on speaker until halfway through the call :/  But at least she could say hi, and he choked up a bit when he heard her voice!  He had tried to call his dad first.  He hears from me all the time, because of my letters, I think he really wanted to talk to his dad, so he was disappointed that he couldn't.  The husband and Chelsea's bf had gone to the tree stand, so had missed the call.

He kept thanking me for all the support, and that he gets mail everyday, but can only write on Sun mornings.  I can tell he's doing ok... would be much better if he wasn't sick, but that he is just as anxious to see us at PIR, as we are to see him!!

I understand that we may not get another call, until we hear "I'm A SAILOR"... but that will be music to my ears!  Thank you, Lord, for watching over my boy... continue to strengthen and encourage his heart.

--

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them:  for the Lord they God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.  Deut 31:6
