just got back form a 5 day vacation to see my sailor in san antonio tx A school. it was so great to get to see him and understand more of what his days are like. i got to meet his friends which were all so nice. the base down there was huge but by the end of it i was starting to get it down. he wasnt able to leave base which was okay with me because there was plenty to do on base.

While i was down there he got oc sprayed and got to pick his orders. i felt so bad for him having to get sprayed. he was in pain that whole day and i felt so helpless. if any of your sailors is getting ready to go through this i would tell them to get a bottle of baby shampoo ready. my sailor was in the shower for almost two hours trying to get the burning to stop. he said start out with cold water then go to hot. keep going back and forth on temperatures and use lots of soap.

he chose portsmouth for where he wanted to go next. i am so excited we will be there for three years.i cant wait to start of our new future together!!! only 5 weeks till he graduates A school

Like the pepper spray riot police use. Plain yogurt relives the burning too.:

Glad you had a wonderful visit with your sailor. My son is soon to be graduating boot camp on April 12th. May I ask why did they OC spray him.

Comment by lemonelephant on March 6, 2013 at 10:02pm

theresa320, your Sailor will not have to go through OC spray  (Oleoresin Capsicum, “pepper spray”) since he is at Fort Sam Houston for HM not at Lackland AFB for MA as lovemysailor's Sailor is. You should join the group, HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio (clickable link).

lovemysailor, I'm glad you had a good visit and that he got stateside orders so you will be able to join him once you are married.

Comment by lemonelephant on March 6, 2013 at 10:07pm

daviyonmom, OC spray is part of the training for those who will be MAs (Master at Arms), the Navy's Military Police.
