Professional Photographer PIR pictures

Does anyone know if we can have copies of the pictures taken at PIR by the professional photographers that were allowed on the floor during the ceremony?

No, I don't believe that you can get copies.  You can check the RTC's fB site, https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand, and print any photos that are in the public domain.  Be sure that your Sailor ordered the DVD.

You could check within the PIR group, PIR 12/21/2012 TG 6 - 11 Divisions (031-038, 803 & 904 -905), to see if anyone got a picture of something that you are interested in.

You didn't ask, but there are groups for most "A" Schools and/or ratings.  What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty)?  There may be a group on here for it.

Concha,

Here is a link to a discussion regarding ordering photos (includes prices). I believe you have seen this discussion before (since you click "like"). Phone number for the photo lab is in the comments. Good luck.

BQB, that is not the photos she is referring to.

Aren't those pictures part of the DVD that they can purchase?  I remember looking at a bound album that can be purchased with the order which included photos taken during the ceremony. From the camera angle, the photos had to be taken by a professional who was allowed to be in closer proximity to the graduates. Of course, things could have changed in the last year or two. I have been to five military events where professional photographers were present but none recently.

The photos in the photo package are the individual photos of the Sailors (actually recruits when they are taken), which are taken 4-4 DOT.  Yes, the recruits can order the DVD at the same time that they order the photos.  Concha is referring to photos taken during PIR by the photographer with the PAO, such as those posted on the RTC's fB site.  Those at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151290830074651.493105.... are from the 12/21/2012 PIR in which her Sailor had PR.

You are referring to the Keel, which can also be purchased with the DVD and photo package, but only the individual photos and the Division photos of the Sailors in the brother divisions are definitely from that TG. Any other photos in the Keel are stock photos and can be of any TG.

Whoa. Stock photos. Didn't know that. What a rip off. :(

Comment by lemonelephant on January 4, 2013 at 3:45am

Yep, but they can't afford to have all new photos in the Keel for each TG and doing it this way also cuts down on the time from PIR until the Sailor or his/her family receives it.

I hope that the stock photos at least have been updated since the uniform change from the working blues.

Hmmm...... wait. I remember when my son graduated from OCS in Pensacola, there was a professional photographer there and I remember he had packets of information out for purchasing the photos. Oh, well.
