Site Enhancements Coming Tonight: New Media Players & Chat!

Hello N4M Members!

If you log on later this evening you’ll notice some changes taking place on our site. Ning will now be offering redesigned video, photo, and music players for all of you to use. Not only will they be customized to match the look of our community, but they’ll also have new features!

There’s also going to be a huge update to Chat! Instead of visiting the Chat tab, you will now be able to chat from anywhere on the site. The Chat window will be at the bottom of every page so you can keep chatting while you visit other pages.

Another tiny change, but one that might be a relief to some moms: you will no longer be required to add an image when you create a Group or Event.

Read more and see a visual preview of what’s to come by visiting Ning’s Blog.

thanks

Carol -

In response to you question, you will not lose existing things that are on the site (ie. clip art and pictures on Group pages). New events/groups will just not require a photo and the players for your photos/music/videos will look and function a bit different.

I know that it is very hard to think of our precious children being put through all the hard times with BC, but it is only going to make them more mature, respectful and grateful for what they have. My son has been in 1 1/2 years and each day I know that he made the right decision, no matter how hard it was. God Bless them all!

Oh Elle
Poor poor poor Elle
the new way to get to, to stay on , to see who is on Chat su oops, stinks. Will it always be like that, where everyone who is anywhere on N4M shows up on chat? Then, when they do chat, you don't know which of, say, 6 Carol's is chatting, because that head pix disappears. Took me hours to figure out the top line chat bounces you back to main page, the bottom word chat doesn't appear to do anything, and that you actually have to click on an arrow to chat.
I'm all for improvements, but this has me stymied. Little chat doesn't work on old eyes.
HELP!

I'm not sure about the new chat room...didn't take long for me to figure it out. Just have to get used to the new settings.

I've had many of you voice frustrations about the new chat. I am going to contact Ning - I think much of what has been giving you issues is a back-end issue that they are still working out. More to come!
Comment by Anna on March 4, 2009 at 3:41pm
I cannot see my pictures on my page anymore - is there something I need to do to get them to show up? Also when I go to other member's pages I can't see their pictures either - what do I need to do?
Thank you for your assistance!!!
Anna
