Ok so right now he's at MEPS. ETA in GL around 5 or 6ish. I'm seeing they only get 4 tickets to graduation. Is this correct? Is there a way to get more? This upset him when he found out. For those with extended families, divorces, remarriages. Lord how will he choose? Plus I'm going through a gambit of emotions. Lol so for him to be upset, upsets me more.

Rhonda- I hope you are doing well. I am writing my son daily as Chipmunk suggested. Amazingly this works. Maybe our babies will be friends. What job did he choose?

Countrymom - I don't honestly know a lot about the different raitings, but that sounds interesting, Advanced Aircrew, I will have to look it up sometime soon. Did you find another group for that specialty? Lemonelephant can help you with that as well, if she hasn't already. Looking at the calendar, you should receive your box sometime next week, and then your form letter after that, but it could still be almost a week later. It seems like each TG is slightly different on timing, and I didn't find this site until right before PIR, so I just kept plugging along, but writing helped. I mostly told about what was going on with the family since we had a very busy summer, like most. Keep hanging in there. My summers always go faster than I want them to go, so I had told my recruit that while bc would probably be excruciatingly long for him, it would go way too fast for me and it honestly did. Not enough projects accomplished. It is probably a little harder with the fall season, but keep yourself busy, like you shared with Val on chat. Working in the garden or yard is always very therapeutic.

Chipmunk, yes, I have given her the info on the Aircrew field.

Hi! My son also left on the 19th of September from PA. I think overall I am handling this very well. I got his box the other day and still impatiently awaiting his letter/call. Country Mom I know how you feel about the lack of tickets as I have 3 other children who were so excited about seeing their brother graduate. It broke their hearts when I told them they couldn't. The upside is that you can pull the graduation up online. My oldest nephew graduated not to long ago and it was really nice to be able to watch the ceremony.

What hotel were you at that streamed the graduation? Can extra guests get on Great Lakes property to see where he was at?

Comment by lemonelephant on September 30, 2017 at 12:46am

canger, The Navy Lodge shows PIR and so do some of the other hotels or you can take a laptop and extras can watch in your room.

No, those without a ticket cannot enter the RTC. They are not guests and will not be authorized to be on the RTC at any time.
