Well we are still waiting for a phone call or a personal letter.  We did receive our PIR letter a week ago.  She has been gone for two weeks now and I miss her.

Christmas was so sad.  We have never been apart for this long, with no contact.  I miss talking and texting with her.

I keep reading the forums and understand that no news is good news as far as how she is doing.

I went to the mail box today and still no letter ;(

Well tomorrow is another day, and soon Tax season starts and I'll be too busy to worry about her (I hope).

My oldest son has completed 4 years already and I still get sad when I don't hear from him. This website will be your saving grace. I do not always comment but I do read the information. Yesterday was my son's 24th birthday. I was hoping to hear from him. We send a beautiful card. Just continue to pray that Jesus encamp angels around here and the entire crew. That's what I do. We will get through this.

The letter should be there soon!  After we got the letter, we wanted the phone call.  Then we got the 3 minute phone call and we wanted more!  I miss my son horribly every day

Thank you ladies for the words of encouragement!   I have written a letter everyday since she left, I mailed all I had when her form letter came and continue to write.  I can't wait to see her at PIR and see how much she has changed.  Thanks again

PIR is Pass in Review  = Graduation Day!!!!

OK so I did get my letter yesterday (dated 12-16) but due to a migraine I chose not to walk to the mailbox.  I got ahold of her boyfriends mom and she said he received THREE letters from her! So poor husband had to got to the mail box at 10 last night and tried to tease me with "sorry no letter"  He is an awful liar lol

Me I only got ONE lol.

She misses us! Says the food sucks but they have jello!  but it is sugar free Yuck!  Said she met the chaplain and he is the nicest guy there.... LOL  She says she got her steel toe boots but they are rubbing her heels raw.  (any suggestions on that ladies?)  And that her all weather raincoat is SHWEET!  short letter she had to be up for watch at 0145 and get some sleep to be back up at 0400 for medical junk.

So weird to have such a small thing bring so much joy and sadness at the same time.  Hope we get more letters today...

My son left on 11/29/10 and we received the PIR information letter on 12/13/10.  We didn't reveive a personal letter from him until 12/24/10 and then we got a phone call that same evening.  We were so excited! He sounded good and I think the call was like 7 minutes long.  He got really choked up toward the end of the call and his Dad made him laugh it off.  We just want to be really positive when we talk to him because we miss him and we know that he misses us too. He's never been away from home either and I miss him soooo much.  I actually got another call from him on 12/29/10 around 4:30 eastern time.  He said that they really never know when they are going to be able to call.  Hope you hear from your daughter soon.

What is her ship and division?

Comment by O_Mom on December 30, 2010 at 11:06am
@ C'Town Mom  she is ship 09 div 073.  PIR 2/11/11.  I am working on the details for the trip to PIR right now.   I can't wait to hear her voice, kind of wish I hadn't cleaned my voice mail box, just hearing her voice would be awesome right now.
