I don't know what you would consider great, but we stayed at the little Red Carpet Inn because it was so close (and so cheap!). We were pleasantly surprised and felt really comfortable there.

I grabbed the Days inn. It's 1.5 miles away and there's a shuttle to graduation.

We stayed at the Sleep Inn on Bittersweet Ave.  They also offered a shuttle to and from graduation and had cake and snacks after graduation.   They streamed the graduation live in the lobby for guests that didn't have tickets to graduation.  It was really close to the graduation entrance gate.  It isn't the Hilton, but it was clean and comfortable and we were treated like our business was appreciated.  And if you plan on attending Sarge's Meet and Greet its only a few minutes from there also.

There was nothing wrong with the Red Carpet. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and very familiar with the PIR process, and the shuttle was included. I stayed there this April, and I would still solidly recommend it. Check dates and language before you trust reviews. Sometimes places change management and/or people used to high-end service have unreasonable expectations.

MommaJJ we stayed at the Residence in we had a two bedroom suite but there was 4 of us. it had a living room kitchen which saved us on dining out. very nice clean and the people were super nice. down the street form the Meet and Greet, 4 miles from the PIR Graduation plus they have a shuttle, and also viewing from there conference room, continental breakfast, but there are quite a few hotels around like the sleep inn, Navy Lodge, Hamptons inn, Howard Johnson. Springfield Inn. You can also google hotels in Waukegan. hope this helps

Hello everyone... my son left Wednesday and it might be to early to ask but does anyone have an idea where I can find information about graduation day?.. we have several family members and would like to get plane tickets soon. Thanks for any info.

It is a little early. You might not hear from him for a while what training day he's on. They go through P-days first, and the length of P-days is unpredictable. The official letter will have his expected graduation date on it, but you have to be ready for the date to change. There are a lot of things that can delay graduation by a week or more (like getting sick, spraining something, needing a second or third try on a test). I actually decided to go with a slightly more expensive airline because it was free to change flight dates. We didn't end up needing to make a change, but it was like insurance. Your official letter should come some time late this week or early next, though, so hang in there!
