Wow today has probably been the toughest day of my life. I go to talk to patrick a couple times before he finally got to boot camp but in the time he was on the plane our dog got hit by a car and is now at the vet's doing well, from what i am told and then i go to work with my cell phone turned on waiting for that last phone call from him to tell me he loves me and everything will be ok and instead my phone doesnt let his call come through and all i get is a voicemail...dont get me wrong im thankful for that little bit, of being able to replay his voice saying i love you over and over but i feel so bad not being able to tell him that one last time that i am so proud of his sacrifice and i love him more than the sun loves the earth. and to top that guilty feeling off i have guilt over allowing our dog to get hit, she is our baby girl and totally spoiled and totally a daddy's girl, i hope she is fine when i go to pick her up tmrw because i will just lose all sense of anything if she passes away....i love you patrick mixon, im proud of you and i am so sorry for missing your phone call. come home to me happy and fulfilled and keep being the sweet, tough, adorable, perfect guy you are and always have been.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog being hit :(

My son left for boot camp on Monday morning, so the last time that I spoke with him was when he called upon arrival into Chicago.  It was the last phone call until boot camp is over, and I am already counting down the days.  I've even started writing letters to him, just  waiting for the address from his recruiter...it's hard, this separation thing.  But just realizing the adventures that he's going to have, and the important committment that he's made, I could never feel prouder of him.  God truly blessed my life the day that he gave me Kobi.

Good luck with everything, and if you ever need to chat...just drop by my page.

My daughter arrived in great lakes yesterday. I was able to talk to her a few times while she was waiting for the bus to pick them up. She is my only child and she is only 17 she will be 18 on the 11th of Nov, so it is so very hard for me and from what I can tell that is normal. I rec'd her last call yesterday at 4:00 my time. I have to say she sounded good and positive and I cannot be more proud of her for doing this it takes a lot of courage especialy since she has only been away from me for 2 weeks at the most. I to have started letters waiting for the address.

Omg Keri, the day my fiance left was also the hardest day of my life...Not only did I have to say goodbye, but I also got into a HUGE fight with my mom, I had to ask his parents to bring me back to school, and then I had to go to work unexpectedly on top of it....It was a really tough day, but hey we made it through that we can make it through anything!
