UPDATE: PIR. A-SCHOOL, WEDDING PLANNING

Hey N4M,

I deleted all my previous blogs due to some privacy issues, but I am back and going to update everything that has been going on :).

FIRST OFF, Jake graduated PIR on May 7th (DIV 179) They got all of their flags excpet for one. They did pretty amazing. I am so proud of all of our sailors. (For all of you who still have guys in boot camp, dont worry, he is JUST fine and he is thinking about you all the time and he isn't going to change and be mean and heartless and it is really hard but your letters keep him going I PROMISE!!! ) It was the best moment of my life seeing him at graduation. We were so happy to be together again! On May 9th on liberty weekend he proposed on the shore of lake michigan! I am so happy to be future mrs. payne!!

At this time Jake is in Flordia for his A-School. We are doing very well, but we miss eachother dearly. It is very hard being a fiance from 3000 miles away. We are toughing it out though. Wedding planning with the military is a b***h. We cannot seem to make any official plans with anything. As we all know "hurry up and wait"

Anyways, Jake is doing very well at a-school so far, though he hasn't been able to class up which is frustrating because we have no clue when he will be out or where he will be stationed next. We are hoping it is in California so we can be closer and wedding plan from a smaller distance, though the closest navy base to me is 3 1/2 hours away. SO, yeah. I can't wait till summer because HOPEFULLY, I will be going to flordia to visit him on liberty weekend!!

Oh, and his job is AE. So if any of you know sailors with that job let me know so I can tell him more information about his job since he hasnt even started classes yet! Thanks N4M!

Congratualtions.

Okay, so the wedding is a definite yes? Do consider the timing of getting married. There's been a long discussion of this on the girlfriends group, a couple single sailors have orders to places such as Hawaii and Japan. These are overseas commands and have different regulations about moving spouses. As they are below E-4, they cannot take their new wives there with them.

Here's some hard and harsh facts to discuss with your sailor and your families: Getting married while he is on leave after A school means his orders will not include you. If he gets California, you're in luck, if he gets Virginia, you pay for your move. So far, all doable. If he gets Hawaii, you can go out of your own pocket, which is crushingly expensive. Still, it is America and no one can stop you from going. If he gets Japan or other oversea locations, you stay in the US for three years without him.

A lot of the couple shave been looking at marrying during A school, a quick civil ceremony, then have a large wedding or a reception later. I am not saying to rush things, but you should have these facts to consider while you are both making plans for your future. That liberty weekend may be a good time for a honeymoon if you get my drift....

Best of luck!

Anti M what are the rules if someone is in A school for a long period? Were not married but going to asap and his schooling is 103 days but they told him he wont be starting for 5 months or so then he"ll be in school for almost 4 months. I cant be away from him that long, the past 2 months have sucked, i know i gotta get used to it though. So can I move there with him!!

Jennifer. My Fiance was told that he would only be at school for 2 months. Yet he has been there since the beginning of May and they have now told him that he won't be out till November. He was told that once he is in Phase three that he call fill out a "out of bounds" CHIT and come home for the weekend. OR he can use the leave days he has built up to come home longer. Neither are garunteed to get approved but it is possible. I am in the same situation. He is going to fill out a CHIT to come home at the end of July and we are throwing together a SMALL ceremony just immideate family and closest friends, then later on in the year, when he is done with A-School we are going to have a big reception and "wedding blessing ceremony" for everyone who didn't attend the official ceremony. None of it is ideal but as you know by now, the military life isn't ideal either. So maybe that is something that you guys can do. That way once your BAH goes through you can move to wherever he is! :) Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more info cause I got a bunch too!

bella, thanks so much. He don't really know anything yet since he just got there. They originally said he'd be done Sept 17 and I was so excited, then he told me he won't even start for 4-5 months... WTF...So I want to get done there asap. I think we are gonna do that too. Get married down there somewhere and the have a big reception when he can come home 4 sure. Keep me updated!!! I need all the info I can get :)

Once he is in Phase 3 he can come home on leave or Liberty Weekend if he gets a special chit. So maybe you should look into having him come home for the weekend so more of your friends and family can be at the ceremony. Where are you located and Where is your fiance stationed right now? My fiance is in P-Cola Flordia. And I am in Cali, so it makes wedding planning super difficult. But as long as his chit gets approved then we are getting married on July 31st. I hope everything works out with you two.

Im not moving to P-Cola unless he is gonna be there longer then november. And If he is gonna be there that long then we have to wait for the BAH to go through so i can get a place down there. Im dont have too much info on it at the moment but I can find some out and let you know!
