Merry Christmas! Our guys are coming home...Whoo! Hoo!....
Yes, we will be there for the power school graduation. I reserved a villa on Dec 2nd. Adam is doing great and is in the top of the class. Can't wait to meet you!
Hey Gail, Got your email looks like you haden't read mine when you sent it.Matt is doing really well I believe Eric is in Matt's class again. I know Matt still sees him regularly and says he is still doing well. As you can see by my other emial Matt's life has really changed in the last year. I finally got pictures up on my site. I have some of Matt and Chelsea. Matt is at the end of the table on the restaurant photo and Chelsea is beside him.
Hi Gail,
Haven't been on this site in a while. Matt says Montressor is doing great in his classes. How was your Thanksgiving? Matt and Chelsea have made it official. They are planning a early spring wedding. They are coming home a week from Friday and Chelsea flies out to sunny California on the 19th from the airport in Greensboro about 15 minutes from the house and then back on the 27th. Matt is doing much better with his grades and has about a 3.2 average now. Chelseas is higher maybe a 3.4 or 3.5 . They are both ET's but in different classes as they let the Navy know of their involvement., but will graduate power school at the same time. I am really looking forward to graduation. Hope to see you there.
Hi Gail -- well we have something else in common -- I too am divorced. Andy went to boot camp on 7/12/08 and my ex and I split on 7/18 -- our divorce was final on 7/28/08. I am living in a two-bedroom apartment in a suburb of Minneapolis. I too miss my house. My daughter was supposed to be with us each 50/50 but about a month after I moved -- he told her to pack her ****ing stuff and get the h*ll out. So she has lived with me until she moved off to college at the end of August. When Andy comes home, I think it's so ironic that he spends most of his time with me--and I LOVE it!!!
My boyfriend and I will be driving down. Not sure exactly what is going to happen -- whether Andy will get to stay there for Prototype or if he will have to move to Ballston Spa -- but I have a Chevy Avalanche truck and so we told him we would be available to help with whatever he needed.
Hopefully we will have an opportunity to meet while we are down there!! It's so nice to put a face with a name!
Gail -- first of all -- my brother lives on S. Field Way in the subdivision across to the west of the resevior -- is that the same area you are at? There are some beautiful homes in that area!!
Second -- will you be in GC on the 20th to celebrate Thanksgiving? My son is scheduled to graduate then. I guess I'm confused because you said that your Eric will be graduating in March. Do you have two down there?
I think we should all stay at the villas so that we can have one big party after the graduation ceremony. I am pretty sure that graduation is the 19th of March. I'm not sure how soon we can reserve them, but I'll ask Eric!
Jason is 23 and thought he was the "old man" of the class....hahha. It is great to get to know you. I hope we can see each other at the graduation in March.
Hi Gail... here it's been almost a month since you wrote to me about coming up my way! Where does the time go anyway? I still would like to get together with you, but the best way to communicate with me these days is by phone. I hope you still have my cell phone number and you can call me when you are in my area. It would be fun to see you and get caught up! We are going out to visit Jesse Sept. 9-14, but will be back after that. Let me know when we can meet. Take care, and hope all is going well! :)
Sorry it has taken so long to get back with you. I have a couple of great photos of Eric and one of Matt and Eric that I am having a hard time downloadong. They did look so handsome. I am taking my laptop from work home tonight and hopefully will be able to download the photos so you can see them on my page. Eric is such a nice young man!
It is great! I am so happy for them.Matt said the Erics grades were great the whole time.
Consider the pictures taken. I'll make sure we take some with Eric's camera and some with ours. I'll try to get Matt's dad to put them on this site when we get home.
Eric is right this isn't the "big one" I think Power school is, but with the close driving distance, I couldn't stop myself. Matt's grandmother and brother are going with us. We are just going up late this afternoon and driving back tomorrow. I promise to take lots of pictures!
Well Gail,
Our sailors made it.Petty Officers! I am headed for Charleston this afternoon since we are only about a 4.5 hour drive. I'll take some photos and post them.
Hi Gail. We won't be going up either. Since they don't get to come home then, our plans changed and we droive his vehicle up to him last weekend (july 2nd-July 5th). A school grauation is supposed to be pretty short and they say that power school graduation is the more important one.... but I know what you mean. It is hard not to be there, isn't it?
Hi Gail! Wow nuke school! That is awsome. Mine is in AG (Aerographer) school. He should be graduating in August. Thanks for giving a shout out to me and making me a friend! I am not on here nearly as much as when Nick was in BC but I still love this site! I am amazed at how many Navy people there are by us. One morning last week on the way to work I saw 4 cars in HR with navy bumper stickers! It is awsome! Keep in touch!
It's only about four and a half hours. Matt's Dad David went down and picked him up on Friday afternoon and then Matt drove back Sunday morning. He has only been home one other time because of the study. It is so good to see him, but almost not worth the trouble. If he leaves right at 5:00 on Friday it's almost 10:00 before he gets home depending on traffic through Charlotte and then he has to turn around and go back on Sunday morning so he really only gets one day. When Matt came home in April, David had to drive down pick him up, then drive back here (a total of about 10 hours when you stop for gas and food) and then do the same thing two days later. I am glad he has his car, but I don't imagine he will be coming home too often. His car is really old and I am not to sure about how dependent it is. He is excited about Memorial Day and a 3 day week-end and I will be excited to spend some time with him.
Actually he is doing well. He struggled at first, never failing, but not as good as he would have liked. His grades have come up nicely and improved every week until last. He also got his hours increased last week, I think it had something to do with not doing as well as he did the week before. He came home last week-end to pick up his car so he just did the minimum study hours and I guess he kind of knew it the extra study was coming so wasn't too upset. Assuming they do well this week, they will go back down again next week. At least he has a car so if they need to go somewhere they can and don't have to worry about finding a ride.

Matt said he and Eric are in the same section. How is Eric doing?
