Hello Mary I posted the pictures of the graduation on my page. Also there is one of Dan and Andy together its feature in the photos section. Check them out. By the way your son is a nice young man.
We would love for you to join our Colorado Mom's group. Cheyenne qualifies for our group. We will be planning an event in either Ft Collins or Loveland in the near future. If you are in the Colorado Moms group it would make it easier for you to know when things go on as we can send messages to all members in the group. I would not want to forget you!!
Hi Mary Beth,
Sorry bout the late reply. I have been so busy finishing up school and getting my new job that I have been very bad at checking the site. I am so excited that you were able to see them pull into port in November. I so wish that is one thing that I had done. This was my son's last deployment on the Peleliu. He was so glad to get back and be with his son and wife. Garretts next assignment was to be in Sicily however plans have changed and he is headed to BUD school......EEEEEEK, I thought I was a nervous wreck before, man oh man. Garrett is Aviation Ord, he just got his Petty Officer Second Class and is really excited about BUDS, something he has wanted since he enlisted.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hope your 2009 is the best for you and your family, Mary Beth. I got to talk to Scotty today, it was great to hear his voice. He is an Electronics Technician, 3rd Class, his field is satellite communications. He really likes the work and is doing very well at it. He told me today he was awarded a Navel Achievment Medal, which is very cool. I don't exactly what he did that warranted it, but I'm stoked for him, none the less. I know you are proud of your sons also! Again, Happy 2009!!
Mary Beth, That was a great thing to do while you were out in San Diego! God Bless you! I actually stayed in Coronado this time out there. I stayed at the Marriott which is like a resort! The rates happened to be GREAT this trip out and it was sooo much easier being right there! However, we checked the rates at this same hotel for February and they were almost tripled!!!!! My hubby has a conference out there the end of February and I usually go with him especially if they are at good places. We are both in the same field so I need continuing education credits just as he does so it works great! We haven't decided yet where to stay for that trip.
As far as the west/east coast thing....at least I am on one of them and not in between like you. That must be hard because it is a plane ride or very long drive either way. At least for me Newport News, Va is only about 5 hrs driving time from here in southern NJ. Eventually they will both be on the west coast, but no where near each other, so then I start all over again!!! Better get used to this too I guess. Nice to hear from you and keep me posted with your guys!
the best play to go is either www.lowfares.com (where you can check most sites in one look) or check out www.military.com there travel site. From where to where is he flying ?
oh yes I am so very proud :) I am so thankful for Cheryl that she went up there and took those pictures for us :) I miss Lee too and get to see him on the 27th :) . I am glad you had a great thanksgiving :)

Hi Mary Beth. I am excited to be hearing from moms in Wyoming! I have a good friends in Cheyenne, whose husband is pastoring at a Lutheran Church. They have been down there two years now, I think. I just got an email from Scotty and we got to talk to him on Thanksgiving. We all marveled later at the technology we have now that allows us to talk to our children when they are on the other side of the world, and it was the next day there. I just sent off another Christmas box, and the middle school is getting ready to send a bunch of stuff to his unit. It makes me feel so good when our community chips in the let the guys and gals know they are remembered and missed. Where are your kids now?
mary beth..yes..when master chief asked who was andy son of mary beth..he did stand up and thats where he was sitting....unfortunately we had some major camera snafus and i am soooo sorry i didnt get him when he got his certificate...thats why i wasnt sure of the young man in the pic with the andy????..i lost my list and have no idea who that young man is......im trying soo hard to remember....i didnt get to chat with him..it was the biggest bess class ever to graduate...89 of them...and my adrenaline was rushing...i am glad you got a glimmer of him...wish it had been more......
Did you check both Providence and Hartford? They are both about the same distance to get to. If he has specific "orders" for leave he can often get an airline to reduce the cost give a military discount. He might have to pay the full price up front and then get a discount when he can show his orders. Call the airline they will tell you their policy. Good luck! Kathy

I am a para professional, but have not joined WEA. I do belong to the WyPec association for Paras. I just didn't feel like I could afford to join WEA, and have been asked a number of times by teachers that I work with in the high school. We are in Colorado for Thanksgiving...I have been hoping to hear from Scotty sometime today, but nothing so far. He is a full 12 hours ahead of us, so right about now he's getting off of watch. He will be glad when his time is done doing guard duty in the tower and he can get to his computer shack. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, I am sure it is great having your son home!!
