I haven't been on here for a while! Hope all is well with everyone and their sailors. Zak is now on the USS New York and will be in Norfolk later this week. He said the ship is amazing and is extremely happy. The ship will be arriving in NYC on 11/2 for commissioning events. Hopefully I'll be able to make the trip and take part in some of the events. It's all very exciting and it's wonderful that he's so very happy!
Congratulations! That's great news. It seems so poignant - I guess that's the right word to describe it - that his new ship be made in part from the World Trade Center because so many joined the military because of 9/11. Best of luck to him and keep in touch!
Hi Stacy R.,
Congratulations!!! My Eddie is also DIV 937. Looks like we are both Proud Moms of Two wonderful U.S. Sailors. Hope to see you this Weekend.
Welcome to Deppers...in but not yet! This is a really great group, full of wonderful women (and a few guys!), LOTS of support and answers. Make sure you add your son to the "Ship out dates" discussion! Again, welcome aboard!
Ms.Stacy,
Are you up for another get-together. There is going to be a get-together in Waco on March 21st. Will take my truck that seats 4, and we can also car-pool. Let me know. The event is already posted under "events".

Stacy,
Well didn't go to work Monday or yesterday. I sent my assistant in. My hubby is sick so I stayed busy, taking care of him. If the Fort Worth ISD closes, then our clinic will close too. So I woke up this morning and found out I don't have to go to work again today. Got lots of calls wishing me a happy birthday, and son called last night. Please stay safe if you have to drive today. Best wishes to Sailor Zak.
Kate
Stacy,
Thank you so much for coming to the get-together. It was great to finally meet you and talk with you. I will be posting pictures today. Stay in touch and let us know how Zak is doing.

Stacy, I live in Bedford. Are you going to the Keller meet and greet today at 1PM? My daughter will graduate on 1-30 from boot camp. Though it was 9 weeks it really went fast. She is doing battle stations on Monday and if she passes, PIR on Friday. Look at the "events" and there is info on how to get to The Main Street cafe. PS I come from RI.
Dear Stacy,
I am so glad that you deceided to join us. I will be excited to hear about Zak and where he is at in his processing. See you tomorrow.
Kate
Dear Stacy,
Happy belated Christmas and New Year. We are just back in town, and glad to be home. How is everything going? How is Zak? Where is he at in his progress? I am in the process for setting up a lunch or dinner for Navy Moms. Details will be coming. Hope you will join us. Call me anytime, let me know how your doing.

Did your kiddo get down to 200 lbs? If somebody told me I had to lose weight over the holidays, I'd go into hysterical fits of laughter. When does he leave for bootcamp? My son is home for Christmas, Thank God!!!
Stacy and Zak,
Happy Thanksgiving. Hope you both have a great holiday.
Best wishes,
Kate and Family

6"3" and 204 sounds good to me too. My son had just the opposite problem, he was a stringbean. He ate everything in sight to gain weight. What a crappy time of the year to have to lose weight.
Stacy,
Was glad to hear from you. My Ken went through the same thing with his weight. He still struggles with it. I know Zak can do it.
The parade is still on. If you click on the event under the "events" column C from T has posted the latest updates. I would be glad to pick you up. I am not sure if my husband is going to go or not. He may have to work. So I may end up going by myself. I am sure that we will have a meeting place, and I think we have to be there by 5pm. I'll keep you posted. Let me know if you need anything. Have a great evening.

I'm sorry. If you need a shoulder to cry on I'm just down the road in North Richland Hills. One of my sisters, Laurie in Chicago has got two Navy sons. One is out now and the other is out there on his ship ( I call it the Love Boat) hopefully heading towards home. She was my touchstone and still is. Alot of people don't understand that this isn't the same as sending your kiddo off to college. There's no comparison. .
I remember you saying you're new to this area. Do you have other kids still at home or friends in the area to give you a shoulder to cry on when he leaves.
Hi Stacy, we live in Irving on the weekends, just down 183 from you. During the week we are in Wichita Falls about 2 hours north. Welcome to the DFW metro. I can try and answer questions about the area or about the MEPS process. My son was a little older than most of the boys, he was 24 when he joined. But I don't think he would have been ready before that anyway. Send me a note or a message anytime you want to talk!
I don't know. I remember they did the same thing with my son. His recruiter picked him and a couple of other recruits up and they stayed at a hotel in Dallas. They got them up bright and early the next morning to take them to MEPS. Shortly before he left, he had to go back to MEPS again. I think that's when they gave him all of his shots. My nephew used to be a Navy recruiter before he decided he'd rather be back on a ship. His ship is on it's way back to San Diego now. I'll ask him about the process.
My stomach was churning the whole day Sam went to MEPS. It hit home that, "this is it" He's gonna do it.His second trip to MEPS was even harder. It was final. My boy was leaving. Do you mean MA-master at arms? That would be a great field if he wants to go into law enforcement after he gets out. If you want, I'll ask my son to e-mail your son. Maybe he can answer some questions for him.
