Hi Marie! Thats ok. I found old postings from people too! My brother got his bachelors from Stevens Point! I actually grew up in Wisc Rapids until I was 16, when my parents retired from their restaurant business that they owned in the Rapids in 1980 when they moved to TX. Anyway, it's so nice to know you and already we have alot in common!!! I look forward to corresponding with you and having someone to lean on in April!!! Lets keep in touch!

Hi Marie! It also is nice to hear from a fellow future NUKE mom! My son says the exact same thing, and also has tried the college route. He's also taking some classes this fall, just to refresh his college algebra, physics and chemistry, subjects he was not too strong on in high school. He has been attending college in high school and after, so had 41 credits when signing up. He went to his first recruiter meeting (not sure what they call it???), and had no idea what it was all about. HE showed up in jeans, and during the three hour work out, threw up! He's also out of physical shape after being out of high school wrestling since his graduation in 2008! It's funny because I ask him if he has any doubts, and he basically says the same thing as your son, he wants direction and a future! I'm so proud of him. He's a smart kid, but never ever applied himself in high school or college. His grades reflected this. I've heard this is common with alot of the nuke guys going in. Ironically, I'm from Wisconsin! What part are you originally from? I look forward to hearing from you! It's so nice to have someone to converse with the next few months!!!! Thank you so much for letting me know you're there! Becky

Dear Marie,
How are you doing? This Navy for moms is such a blessing.
I'm here steady almost a year now, there's too many intials and abbreviations to remember.!! HAHA!! I just ask the moms what it stands for! HAHA!

From your profile, you child is thinking of joining. I hate this new profile that we now have, it doesn't let moms tell about their child, if it's a son or daughter, for starters! HAAH!

My daughter Kim is in Virginia on the USS Normandy. SHe was trained to read the radar.

I hope to hear from you again. Please don't hestitate to write.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
