Hey Beth. Haven't talked in a long time. How's Garrett doing? Michael's having a hard week this week. He's in Washington State on the Abe Lincoln, which is in the shipyard in Bremerton, and this past week they decided that the nukes in the Reactor Division had to live on the ship until who know's when. He's not a happy camper at all right now. I tried to give him some words of encouragement last night, but don't know if I helped or not. It's so hard to hear him sounding so depressed after he did so well through nuke school. Sigh......
We need to ge together again. How's my friend, Roo, doing?
Yes, that would be me! Definitely a small world! It would have been fun to car pool to the packing party and do some catching up, but this past week I was swamped at school and fighting a flu, and I am now watching my grandson for my daughter who had to go out of town. I would love to get more involved though.
Monday, Lindsey, her son, and I are driving to Conneticut for Chet's graduation from A school. He's a Fire Control Tech on subs and is being deployed to Washington State. He will probably be on his first 5 month sub tour within a month. He had been hoping to visit for Thanksgiving, but when he found out that wasn't going to work out, we decided to make the trip. It's been a year since we've seen him, and once he gets to Washington, who knows how long! Your pictures are great! How long has Garrett been in? We will have to get together!
HS and HSL sounds very similar in the general description, perhaps the HSL is a smaller chopper. Blake seems to have access to email regularly during his deployment...very happy about that. Looking at the globe...still not used to the idea of how far away they really are! Talk soon.

Michael is coming home on leave tonight! I can't wait to see him. His flight gets into Orlando at 10:00 tonight. He drove across country from NY to WA last week, and is flying home from WA tonight. He'll be here for 2-1/2 weeks, then he'll be off somewhere in the Pacific - that part I'm starting to get kind of nervous about. I know I shouldn't, but can't help it!

Mary Jo is like a sister to me. So when I last was over to visit her she was showing me all of her web site activities and I saw how you could keep up on what was happening with Jon and the crews he is working with. I wanted to stay up to date with it and be able to view the news from her perspective. Also she was telling me all about all of her navy 4 moms friends, I wanted to also meet some of you as well.

Thanks for the compliments on the photos. Of course it's my daughter the artist with the eye for the camera. She fancies doing a book that chronicles her journeys around the globe. Plus she has quite the biting wit. I have so many more that I have not uploaded yet, plus I hope many from the cruise also!

I got a call today from Michael. He got his orders to the USS Abraham Lincoln out of Everett, WA. He's very excited and is ready for the road trip from NY to WA. He and Mary are going to go ahead and drive over and get situated in a house or apartment, then fly home for a visit before he has to report. I can't wait to see him!!
We need to get together for lunch some time soon. It's been too long!

Hi Beth, again weeks have gone by and I don't know where they went! Why does life have to be so busy! I have a day off today and thought it would be nice to catch up with my Navy4Moms friends...what do you hear from Garrett? Corey graduated this week from SAR school. Thank goodness. He was on medical hold for the last week prior due to ear infection/bronchitis...there you go with the water in the ears. Reminds of when the kids were little in swim lessons! Anyway, I am glad we are through that portion. I know he is so glad also. He posted a video on my facebook page today for me to see and one of the new girls on our group page said her son graduated too. So I looked her up and I believe her son graduated with Corey. I invited her as a friend so we'll see if she responds. I am excited to see her pictures she said she'll be posting. We could not go. We could not get off work. What a disappointment for us! I'm sure there will be other things coming up but still, I wanted to be there. Such is life, I guess. We are cold here today. It is only in the 60's and I am in a sweatshirt. I checked and of course Florida is having another warm day! I miss that, I tell you. We keep saying we're moving south and yet, with the economy and jobs, who wants to be the low man on the rung! So we will stay put for awhile yet. Beth, I hope this finds you well and hope that all is well with your "two" in the Navy. As always thinking of you and will try (again) not to make it so long between my visits....take care my Florida friend!
