My goulash is VERY simple. While my elbow mac. is boiling, i brown my hamburger with salt and pepper. I also add about a palm full of salt to the boiling water,i know it sounds like alot but the noodles need FLAVOR!
I drain the hamburger and noodles and combine them together. Then i add 1 small can,i think its 6 oz not sure of tomato paste and some ketchup and mustard til it tastes good!See! EASY!
About the site, i think Sunny and Wands have been fighting, and Wanda started a new group, its called Warm hearted friends, check it out, thats where we all are now.Unfortunatley,Sunny isn't cause you have to be approved, and i think she started it so Sunny can't be in it.I try to stay out of that,i just visit and keep it cheery.I private mess. Sunny if i want to talk to her.She has changed her pic and name on there though, but i think i can connect you with her if you want.
Glad your sailor will be home! Cam is at O'Hare right now,but should be here at 3pm can't wait.I told him his fav. soups in the crockpot,he said"COOL!"

yes I am happy, we went to the recruit office and he was not there!? I will have to call him on monday bright and early to find out what happened to him. I am soo happy you are able to have you salior home for the holidays!
Mark wanted to travel by train, so he is coming by train, then flying back. It is so kinda expensive, but he is single and can do what he wants to with his money. We'll probably reimburse him for some of the expense for part of his Christmas.
Hey Mitzi! Mark will be starting sub school. He said sometime next week. They're still in the process mode. He has booked his trip home for Christmas and is really looking forward to seeing his nieces and nephew. We're getting ready to ship some stuff up there to him that he's requested. Are ya'll looking forward to a big Christmas?
Hey mitzi! My husband has been in CT since mid september so if you need any info on anything i'll do my best!!! = ) He seems to like it other than the family seperation but they find things to do.. While he doesnt have his car he can hitch a ride on the shuttle to the mall at the MWR I believe.. i'll ask my hubby where it is.., but the shuttle goes to different places. I have been to the base 3 times and am moving up there as soon as I can whenever he gest his orders.. [hopefully tomorrow] so yeah any info you need i can try to help!
Hey Mitzi, Mark just emailed us his address today. He's been there since last Tuesday. Seems they're still in processing and he said that school won't actually begin until next week for him. It could be that he will be in class with your son! He is going to come home for Christmas on the 17th ....I hope.
Mark has been shopping at the NEX and the Commissary and I think maybe at a mall somewhere. He went to a Best Buy somewhere. He starts to school tomorrow and will be finding out when he'll come home for Christmas and what address we use to send him some of his stuff. Was there other guys with your son from the GL?
Hey Mitzi! We haven't heard from Mark today. He was supposed to call us. I bet he has gone off somewhere exploring some more so maybe we'll hear something later. He has spent some money since landing in Groton! I think he is trying to make up for lost time ....lol. TTYL! Wanda
Just tell him to take his stuff if you want to send it make sure he gets a Mail box , this is within the first 2 weeks he will be there, My son is in Bldg 492 so if You need me to do anything let me know
so Mitzi, just how good was it to see and hug that new Sailor of yours? Did it help your stress levels go down just a bit, for a least a few days? Isn't that PIR ceremony amazing?! Did you do Thanksgiving with him in GL? Did he get to come home? I'm sure he's on his way to "A" school now. Will he be back home for Christmas? Well, I think I've lft you with enough questions to answer once you catch your breath and process the whole experience! My prayers are still with your family. You take care.
Hey Mitzi, Mark couldn't take anything with him except the things he had at BC. I'm sure after a couple of weeks when we get his address, we will be sending lots of his stuff up there! Let me know what airport your son flies into.
I haven't gotten a response about that from Mark yet. He is looking forward to watching some movies and relaxing, but he said he really would prefer to stay busy.
Hello Mitzi,
My son has been in Groton since May. He did BESS, Techno, ATT and now finally A school for FT(Fire Tech). He will finally have his "last" graduation March 17th, then get assigned to a boat. Also if they keep top scores in their class, they seem to get first choice for things- like what rate they want. We love the Groton area. We are also fortunate to only be about 2 1/2 hours away in New Hampshire, so we see Alex once a month. Like Ava we also go down to visit, the base seems very nice. There is an awesome Sub Museum there. Mystic CT is a favorite spot to many and only about 30 minutes away. Lots of the guys have cars or trucks on base, so if your son does not have one he should be able to find a friend who does. Also they encourage the sailors to do volunteer work. They will offend announce different opportunities available. My son has had some great experiences that way also. Well, we are all here for you so ask away if you have any questions. See you back in the sub group. Welcome aboard.......wendy
