Mark-since you are the one to go to for questions...my son is moving from NY to WA at the beginning of Jan. (He is coming to OR first) He is renting a truck to carry his motorcycle and belongings and towing a car carrier with his car So here is what I need... a "weigh slip" so that he can be reimbursed from the Navy. I went to the OR weighmaster site and couldnt find this, does it have a different name? Any help would be appreciated Thank you Karen

That's OK Mark, I see you understand now and the last sentence you wrote made me feel really good. It's been a real up and down ride and now I hope he does dominate in sub school. He is going into Fire Control Tech. Thanks!

Hi,
I'm so happy things worked out for Zach. Last I heard Zach was due to come home in a couple of weeks, have a great time!
I have new pictures up on my page from Christmas, trick or treating, and just us all being together. It was sooo nice having Jim home it didn't matter what we did. He and his wife left for Virginia last week. They are spending time fixing up the new place before he has to report. It went by so fast. Talk to you soon, Debbie

jlwb98229@yahoo.com I don't need to know when at this point......just want to get the ball rolling! If this is true and not a rumor I have to say I'm impressed! Nice way to make the move less stressful!

Hi Mark, Just was wondering if you could give me a little more detail than I am getting from my son. He is in Groton and has finished sub school and bms (I think thats what it was) and now into A-school. Not so sure if you call torpedo man his rank? But that is what he is. He will be graduating Dec 17th., so what happens now? What will he be doing as the tm? Thanks Rhonda

Hi Mark,
I hope everything works out for Zach. My youngest is Zach, spelled the same way. Keep me posted. I'm surprised an audiology examination wasn't one of the first things done with this being the field he was training in.
Jim will be on his way home soon. They are leaving Virginia tonight. They have found an apartment and have been trying to settle in a bit before coming home. They also needed some well deserved sleep before the long ride home. I'm sorry the other half of THEY is my daughter-in-law. Yes, he will be on the Prise. I believe the expected world tour will not be happening. As far as its last deployment, I'm not sure. However, he will be on her for that last ride.
It's Christmas in October for us this year. My dad and stepmom will be joining us from Tennessee as well, so it will be a house full.
Talk to you soon, Debbie

Hi,
My son received his orders. He will be on the USS Enterprise, Virginia. He is very excited. He is trying to get his housing taking care of and will then be coming home. We can't wait! Thank you for letting me pick your brain. How's your son? Did you ever find a golf partner?

Hi Mark: Our sailor started last week at Bremerton - maybe you will run into him. He talked with Danny - so I don't know where he is at - thanks for being open. ~s

my husband said 2nd test was prob. the hardest, but 3rd they didnt have much time to study for it so it was pretty difficult too. but like oi said, 70 is passing..

sorry i didnt write you sooner, we just got our internet hooked up, we got in GA a little before the first.

70 is passing in ST A school so he'll be okay, if they have difficulty on the first test than the second and third will more than likely be difficult.

Mark,
-My son Reed is still a DEPer. He won't leave for Boot Camp until Dec. He has been trying to visit with the NUKE guy out of his Recruiters Office, but hasn't managed to connect with him.
-My question is, would you be willing to answer his questions? I will happily supply his e-mail address if you are willing.

Sheesh, you engineers! Yes, there are actually endeavors in the "outside" world that are capable of taking off WITHOUT an E.O., a feasibility study, and a spec sheet! Hugs, The B.D.D. ("Blue Dog...")

Thanks for your insight Mark. He actually is finished and just waiting and I believe has shorter days starting this week. I am curious where in Idaho did they do the prototype? We were in Idaho this summer and near Arco there was something that seemed fenced off and we had the feeling something had gone on there or still does go on there. Just curious as that seems such a remote odd place for Navy activities. Thanks again for answering my question.

Hi Mark:

Have a question, since you and your son have been through this nuke path. Is there any kind of graduation for prototype school? My son finishes Aug. 14, we will be in North Carolina at the time and thinking about going down. He says there isn't much of a graduation for that. Do parents go to it? We did not make it to power school graduation which is much bigger. Just wondering what your experience was. Thank you
