I told Patrick about Megan and that she likes penguins too. Where does she work, Patrick is on the flight deck assigned to the Tophatters. Maybe they could meet and have a laugh over their fascination n of penguins.

-I didn't expect you would want to go.
-I realized that my Mom's Birthday is the 13th and decided that 2 weeks in a row to Beaumont was not something I want to do. So I contacted my brother to see if he would want to go with me to surprise Mom. 'He is the surprise' since he doesn't go over for a visit very often.
-Why don't we wait and see if this group will try again to get together, closer to home, at a later date.

In case you didn't already notice the Nimitz page has been deleted. I have contacted the Navy for Mom's administrator to find out what happened so I will let you know what I find out as soon as possible. I do not have a full list of all the members of the Nimitz page so I am trying to let everyone on my friends list know. I hope that we will be able to get the page back but I am afraid that all the good information that we had on the page might be lost. We may have to start over from scratch with a new site but let me see if the administrator can help us any first.

I just went to the Nimitz page and put some information on there about the amount of BAH and who is eligible. I double checked everything with my husband to make sure I had the most correct information. I was also on a ship. I was on a DD which the Navy doesn't have anymore so I am dating myself a little. We had only 360 people on my ship but I can still sympathize with how crazy it can make you having to live in such a small area with such limited storage and no privacy. I do think that it would be wise to wait for a while to get an apartment because it would be difficult to find an apartment in San Diego for under $1000 even in the worst neighborhoods. One suggestion I would make is to have her get a car from a reputable dealer, there are a lot of places the will rip her off near the base so she may have to have someone drive her some where away from the base. Cars are also expensive here but she will need one once she is able to get an apartment anyway. It will give her a little bit of freedom to get away from the ship and the base when she has free time, it will also let her see a little more clearly how much money she will have available to spend on an apartment when the time comes since she will already nknow how much she has to spend on her car.
