Dear earlzagurl,
How are you doing? See, we do have a Navy conection here!! HAHAA!!
I'm so glad to hear everything is fine with Philip. Too bad you couldn't see him though, when he returned. Before you know it Christmas will be here. We're finally up to September...HOORAY!! Now it should start cooling off.
I hope Philip's wife is better. A few years ago, I had appenditis, I saw stars with that pain!!!
I'm up to a hearing aide for my left ear. I'm doing good with it.
I have a loner hearing aide for my right ear, just to keep the nerve stimulated. The audiologist told me, if there's no improvement with my right ear after a month with the hearing aide, she'll approve me for the surgery Cochlear Implant. So this year things are coming along good for me.
How have you been, health wise?
I hope all is well.
Kim was here last week. Her ship passed an inspection, so the Sailors got time off. The poor kids, busted their butts off for weeks, doing 15 hour shifts, 7 days straight, for this inspection.
SHe looked great, gain some weight! Oh well!!
That's about it for my update. Please don't be a stranger.
Take care and God bless,
Your friend,
Barbara
Dear earlzagurl,
Hey my long lost firend, how are you? I hope an pray you get over that bronchitis!
Other than keeling over from the heat, I'm doing good. I can't wait until it's Fall!! HAH! I am so not a summer person.!!
Kim surprised me with writting me e-mails. I am so thrilled. I wrote to her, I hope she keeps this up. I hate struggling on the phone. My good ear that I have always struggled with on the phone, died. completely gone, must be two months now.
Not only that, I never know what to say on the phone. With the e-mails, I'm telling her everything that's going on! HAHA! Her ship is finally doing 5 day test run cruises. Good thing, .....the first cruise had 4 fires on board.
Today she wrote, that her and a friend are going to an amusemnet park and maybe a movie later. I'm so thankful she made friends. At home she was a hermit, just reading books.
I do lovely things like that. I almost put the cereal in the refridge, skillets in the fridge. Plates in the oven! The usual! HAHA!!
How wonderful, your son and his family coming home and on you birhtday!!! I know you're on cloud 9, how wonderful!! That's the best gift ever!! I'm so happy for you!! DId he say how long he can stay for?
I know, us moms take the back seat, when it comes to our children, who they call first!! HAHA!
I have (hopefully will be) exciting news. I have a new ENT doctor and he has me being evaluated for a cochlear implant, it's a hearing device. I did research on it, and joined another website called the Cochlear Community. The members are all deaf and have had this surgery. I even have about 4 women I write to, that have the Meniere's Disease.
I'm told it'll be months before I find out if I qualify for this surgery or not.
I'll let you get going. Have a (early) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Please don't be a stranger!
Take care and God bless.
Your friend,
Barbara
Dear earlzagurl,
Well hello long lost friend, how have you been? I'm doing well.
That video of your son reading a baby book , I know was priceless!! HAHA!!
Kim was here last weekned. Again it took her 11 hours for a 7 car car ride.
I heard something of an accident, if it's the same story. WHat happened on the ship?
How wonderful about your daughter in law and grandbaby spending time with you! I know you enjoyed their visit.
Please don't be a stranger. Have a wonderful and blessed Mother's Day.
Take care and God bless,
Your friend,
Barbara
It seems like forever since we have talked! Man you have really got your page loaded! You are very talented with poetry! You have a great way of expressing your feelings. It's a joy reading them.
So other than missing your Sailor, what else is going on? For me I planned a VAmeet and greetand no one showed. But everyone was real sorry and want to get together again. I think I will let us rest for a month and try again.
You and Flip are in our prayers, and when I light my blue candle,he is mentioned as one of the sailors we "know" and cherish.
God Bless,
T
Hi, I haven't been on N4M's for a month or so, I apologize for not responding sooner. Everything is pretty good on the "Sailor" front. Derek is doing very well, recently went through a supervisor training course and will take the PO1st class test in Sept. It's doubtful that he will get promoted on the first time around but I can always hope! His roommate is also out on the Stennis, a good guy, AE2, great big bald guy from Austin, TX. I'm planning on going on the Tiger cruise this year on the Reagan, I'm so excited! Where are you in KY? We go to Ft. Mitchell near Cincinnati every few years for a convention. It's beautiful there but I can't handle the humidity. I'm up in the Pac. NW corner of the world.

(I can use my last name because my sailor's is different!)
adam is my favorite too. My boy is a depper, not leaving until july. Yeah, we keep busy here. looking forward to seeing my son in uniform when he grads.
Dear Earlzagurl,
We we were so surprised. Your right, it is such a blessing. I just dread when Kim drives back the 7 hour trip. I always bend God's ear on that! HAHA!!
I hope to have one girl's day out. It's a shame, the few times that Kim came home, I haven't any money. I love this one, Darlene has yet to pay me back for what she took from my monthly check. From months ago, repairing her car, I'm constantly paying something for her, she works, but only part time.
Two weeks ago, I shelled out $235 for 5 of us to get an autograph from one of our favorite wrestlers. Couldn't even get a picture with the man, no one could.
So now I'm broke, and Darlene with Kim went to get tattoos and are now having dinner out. I'm lucky if I get a flavored coffee when they come back! UGH!
I'm glad you heard from Philip. I have writen to some moms who told me they haven't heard from their children in years. I don't know why, but that's what they wrote.
I'll keep Philip in prayer for where he is located. Like you said, God sees all, where we can't.
That was so adorable what Philip's daughter said!! How old is she? How cute that was!!
What ashame, your sister cutting her honeymoon short for sickness! UGH! That's lousy! I hope her and her husband feel better.
My ears always feel like it's a balloon ready to burst! UGH!
Let me get going. Please don't be a stranger. I'm always around here! HAHA!
Take care and God bless,
Your friend,
Barbara
Dear Earlzagurl,
I missed hearing from you. Periodically I checked to see if you were writting!! HAHA!! You really did have a busy schedule going, at least it was all good things, thank God for that! HAHA!
I'm doing good. Kim surprised us last night, coming home. We didn't expect that. Tonight, we had a birthday party for my God daughter, so Kim hid in the bedroom. She surprised everyone!! HAHA!
How nice of your sister giving you some furniture. That's great to hear. I used to luck out every now and then!! HAHA!! Last year, Kim and Darlene bought me a new couch with reclining seats!! I have never had a really good couch before, not even thinking about the reclining. I baby this couch, it stays covered!! HAHAH!! I have two dogs that sleep on it.
I don't mind the Spring, what I hate is the bugs that come with it! UGH! I'm one of those people, I'm scared of bugs!! UGH!
I love the cold weather, but I have to be honest, since I don't go out much, when I do, I get cold. Must be age creeping in!! HAHA!!
The summer, forget that, I really can not tolerate the heat at all!! UGH! I live in the air conditioning! HAHA! I always say, who ever invented the air conditioner, his wife must have been going through menoupause! HAHA! My Hot Flashes aren't bad now, but I used to realy die with them!! UGH!
How is Philip doing?
At least he does e-mail , it's something.
I hope he's doing well.
How are you doing?
I hope all is well. How is your vertigo?
I have the everyday vertigo, and on occassion, a bad spell.
I just joke that I'm drunk again. HAHA!
Oh before I forget, my son had to do a report and project on a diesease. I told him to do it on Meneire's . The project had to be four pages and in a booklet style. I pulled out all my tests.
I told him, I want an "A" on this! HAAH! I typed it out, and wrote all about it, symptoms, tests, medications, processures and progosis. He had to do a presentaion on it. He got a 95 !! I even got a kiss for it!! HAHA!
Let me get going. It was so good to hear from you again.
Take care and God bless,
Your friend,
Barbara
I sent Phil's pic to Brandon to see if he knows him. Phil sure looks familiar to me. We stopped in to see Brandon last summer. I suppose we could have seen him there... This is Phil's first cruise, right? So we wouldn't have met him on the 2007 Tiger Cruise...
Hello Erelene!
How was the wedding??
Brandon is my 'brown shirt'. He's on the right in this pic. He has just been moved to the paint/corrosion shop. Out of the line shack & thrilled about it! Ha! What does your son do? Interesting that his twin didn't also join the Navy. Is he going to school?
I have had so many proud moments since Adam joined in 2002. They just keep coming.
Are you considering going on the Tiger Cruise?
Glad to hear from you - sounds like you have got a lot going on - nothing much exciting here - looking forward to some warmer weather here later this week - I am so sick of the cold. I guess both of our boys are on the west coast now!!!!
