Hi Denise....How are you? I have not talked to you in a while. I hope your husband is feeling better with his blood pressure. How is Anthony? I spoke to Tim today after about one week. He flew off of base with the Marines for shooting practice. He passed sharp shooting with high Marine scores and was very happy. He will be receiving a ribbon to wear.He said the Marines have a higher score to achieve to pass.

Hi Denise, First, Happy Memorial Day belated!! Please tell Anthony "THANKS" I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but I was at my Mom's house for two weeks. I was traveling to work from her house. She lives in a very nice senior apartment but I could not get wireless service there.I hope your husband is feeling better. Hopefully that blood pressure is down now. I'm sure you are taking good care of him. Tim is doing well. He is leaving the base for about two weeks for combat training and is has been busy putting his package together to return to SWCC which was his original Navy contract. He has gotten all of my boxes so far! I have fun putting them together. Well, I'll close for now and try and catch up on the Japan site which will probably take me hours. Take care, Sharon

Hi Denise... I worked this weekend, so now I'm catching up on my e-mail. I mailed the package and now lets see how long it takes to arrive! I had to laugh today. Tim sent me an e-mail saying 'remind me when the package will be coming because I don't check for mail all the time." HA HA !!!! See, I'm still needed as a Mom but the problem is that I don't have Japan radar for packages. I should have wrote back,"I'll get back to you about the delivery date after I ask Navy for Moms!!!! Hope Anthony has a good week and you too!!

Hi Denise, I called Tim on Saturday and there was no answer. I spoke to him for about 2 minutes on Sunday but he was about to go to bed (early pt on Monday) I was happy because when I got home a few minutes ago I had an Email from him!! He said he went to the famous bridge and castle thats in Iwakuni. "pretty cool" he said. I remembered this was the weekend there was a festival. I'm glad he had some fun. Thanks for the Walmart info. Let me know when it starts!!! I'll inquire at the Walmart near me too. I guess I never noticed this special event because this is the first year I've had a family member in the military. I will for sure submit pictures!! I also wanted to ask you about mailing packages. Are there any special restrictions on what we mail in the box? How long does it take for our boys to receive their mail and packages? Have a good week and write back whwnever you get a chance.

Good morning Denise, Where do I begin? Tim got a new cell phone and when I tried to call it I couldn't get it to connect. I worked this weekend and his dad left me a message with the number, only with a few extra numbers in it. I called him on Sunday morning and we spoke on the phone for about 40 minutes which made my whole day!!! You were right about always trying to figure out the right time to call. He is good and settling in and also recovering from all the vaccinations. Poor boy!! He is moving somewhere else on the base probably Tuesday or Wednesday. He told me sometime in the next few months he is going to climb Mount Fuji. I googled it and it looks very cool! I'm so glad you gave me the Iwakuni website, Talk to you soon! Sharon

Dear Denise, I'm not sure if you got my last message on Monday. It came back to me as not delivered so I thought I would try again. Tim called Monday morning at 4;30 am,our time. I hadn't heard anything from him since a quick chat while he was changing planes on Saturday. It was so good to hear his voice and know that he landed safely!!! And, are you ready for this? He spoke to his father on Tuesday 3/31 and told him that he was happy and liked everything so far, especially the workout facility. There was not one negative comment! That made me feel so great and gave me the peace of mind that I need to survive. It's really great talking with you! Thanks for the website info and all the support you gave me. I'm also glad your son likes it too! Our kids joinning the military is for sure a life altering experience for us Moms!!!!!!! Talk to you soon, have a great day! Sharon

Dear Denise, Thanks for the nice note. I feel better already, knowing you have a son in Iwakuni. I would love to have the website, whenever you get a chance. We only heard from him once while changing planes and nothing since he arrived and he should have by now. I kept reminding him to purchase phone cards but..... I'm sure the time adjustment will be difficult the first week. Thanks for your support and the info about the buddy phone number once he makes friends!
