Hey Dawn! Today wa a little better....A came home at 10am and spent the entire day with us. We had brunch and he golfed with dad. Z's stepmom sounds like a real pistil! And you're right, he DOES talk to you the most, after all you are the REAL MOM. Sounds to me like she is just jealous of your relationship and wants to horn in, but I don't think that'll happen at all. Tonight A is at Starbucks with more friends, and tomorrow he and Dave go to the gun range to shoot. I was invited, but Yuck! I will stay home and do stuff. A is going out with his recruiter tomorrow night and they are gonna do PT with some new recruits. I am so impressed with the changes in A! Suddenly he wants to do volunteer work, he wants to help around the house, and he is just such a MAN now! GOOOOOOOO Navy!!!! I LOVE YA!! Sooz
Hi Dawn-My son is an MA stationed in Nebraska. He likes it out there very much but there is not a whole lot to do out there. The base is pretty far out from everything. The weather is starting to get better out there already. The sailors out there seem to be a good group and do what they can to help each other out.
Oh no she DIDN'T! That is YOUR son! At least you'll get to see him at the airport....make sure you get your own time with him. Don't feel too bad...A ate dinner with us, then immediately ran out with his friends. Tonight he is spending the night at one of their homes. I think he feels guilty, he kept asking if it was ok....I told him the truth - actually it wasn't, I wanted him home tonight, but if that's what he wanted to do.......at this rate, I'll see him not much at all and I gotta say, I am a bit bugged. His stupid friends never even wrote him! Oh well........
AJ is off to Maryland. I am truly blessed to have my son stationed on the East Coast with us. For how long...that is up to the Navy and of course, the Lord. But for now, I count my blessings each and every day. He is so matured now. I know my son is still in there but the Navy matured him in such a short time. He is starting to relax a little and I know each day he will relax a little more until the time comes for him to head to his base in Maryland. He said he very much enjoys the work he does as an MA. Showed off his badge to me and all. So So So Proud. Anyway...I will keep Zach in my prayers. Does he come home for leave next week? Probably...have lots of fun then :) Colleen
Of course I will stay in touch with you - I feel we are friends now, and it will be fun to see how our sailors turn out in life. A stayed in a hotel by airport last night with three other shipmates. According to what I heard in the background, their spirits were (shall we say?) high. He leaves for GA in early April and while he's here, he's gonna go recruiting with Jake the guy who recruited him. We are taking Monday off and I am teaching half days most of the week (I can't Wed. and Friday though and I still have to teach evening classes because those are contract classes........) Tonight we are going to the Cookhouse for a BBQ'd steak dinner just the family. Hopefully tonight will be low key for all of us. I value this family time. Oh yeah, and we are bracing ourselves for the bark-fest that will occur when A walks in the door from our darlin' two doggies. (Ear plugs would be nice, LOL) Brody will be happy to see him, but Izzy? Well our little puppy mill rescue may be another story.....
Hi Dawn! A is doing great, he gradded today and now is getting ready to come home. We get to pick him up at airport tomorrow at 4:00pm. Then it's off to a steak dinner for him (his request). I'm taking most of next week off from teaching so we can do family stuff together. We are so proud of him (and of all the boys, including Z!) Hey, are you looking for a job? I read Kaye S's thing to you....(I know, I'm nosy! LOL) Sooz
Hi, Dawn! It was great meeting you on Saturday! Well, I asked my hubby (who knows some stuff) and he told me a little bit about the job. If you'd like to know, give me a phone call. Hugs, k.
Heya Dawn! Yeah, A is a little bummed Z isn't gradding with them, but he says it's only another week. I wish they were going to the same place.....how far do you thing GA is from CT? How long would it take us to drive there? Maybe in the summer is what I am thinking....
Hey,girl! There oughta be a book written about that - every woman in USA would buy a copy! I myself plan on writing a book called 101 Things Parents Do That Drive A Teacher Nuts. #1 on the list? Believing EVERYTHING your kid tells you - especially if he gets into trouble at school! LOL
Hi, Where is your son at for Graduation? mine will graduate on March 26th in Dam Neck, VA he also is MA. He is to report back to Austin, TX on the 9th of April.
Hi dawn, PRP can stand for several things in the Navy but based on what i know about Zack, I was able to get an idea. Google is your friend :-)
Was great seeing you yesterday!
Hi again Dawn! What a great time we had in Indy. It was so nice to meet you and share the time. Still would like to know why the Navy has something in Nebraska?
I know! A doesn't have flight info for us yet, and since we HAVE to pick up him, this is becoming a real issue. There are classes I have to get out of teaching, etc. He says he'll know soon, but it's driving me nuts! SOOZ
I did finally hear from A at night last night - he had a good time over weekend and said they have 2 more tests to pass this week. I'm not sure when he comes home either, but with our crazy skeds, I told him we needed to know asap so we could take time off to pick him up at airport. I'm glad Z is passing his tests. You know, as a teacher, I gotta say I don't believe in tests anyway. Everyone tests differently. I see in the kids at our school all the time, a lot of them know the info yet still have a hard time applying it to a test. Oh well.........let me know what else is up with you...sooz
Of course we are and we'd love to see you too! Spring is great in CT, summer sucks (too humid), and fall is WONDERFUL. The leaves and all that, etc. Hey, we got a couch and love seat yesterday - we had to, our others were 15 years old and trashed! Sooz Come out any time! It's next to NY and we could have a BLAST there! Sooz
