Hi Kris, my brother called at 2am... he was at the Airport. He said he got his orders at 1 in the morning and his destination was changed from San Antonio, TX to Virginia Beach. Don't know why... but I'm so happy that he received his orders and did not have to stay at GL for long. He is going for MAA. Thanks again for your help and answers. I will keep posting on how he is doing. He said he would call back as soon as he was all settled in. He also mentioned that there was another 10 guys with him being sent to Virginia (from different divisions).
Kris, I really do appreciate it... thanks again. My brothers name is "VillaLozano, Lazaro" I know a little hard to pronounce, sorry. But, yes if you find out anything it would be wonderful if you could pass me the info. Again, he was in Div 362, Ship 10. Hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks... so while at great lakes once they get moved, they will be allowed to have their cell phone and laptop? So they don't have to wait to get to A School before obtaining these items. I'm sorry for all the questions... but in our family we are brand new to the military and don't know how all of this works. Thanks in Advance.
Well, we thought and were under the impression that it was San Antonio, TX. He is going for MA... but when we saw him this weekend for PIR he mentioned that he had not received orders yet and that he had heard rummors that some of the guys going for MA in Texas might not be sent there after all. He said he heard it was going to probably by Virginia because TX might not have any space right now. At the moment he is still at GL and we came home on Sunday, we have not heard from him since then. I know it is just Tuesday... but I am wondering what happens from here, what will he be doing now that he graduated if he is held up at Great Lakes. Do they get liberty and or where do we write him. I tried to get some info from his recruiter but he was not much help. He told me that the orders come from GL and we would just have to wait and see. I also tried call Public Affairs and the lady told me that PA does not have that info and we would have to write our sailor to find out. But it's like where do we write? I'm sure they've moved him since then.
Hi Kris may I ask you for a favor. I will not be taking a computer with me. I was planning on checking through my phone's internet access... but sometimes I don't get such good reception depending on my location... can you please text me as soon as you hear something, 408-836-2555. Thanks in advance.
Hi Kris... I guess we'll be up wondering the whole night and the whole day tomorrow. I too will be on a plane tomorrow and am extremely nervous... don't know if I will get any sleep tonight. Good luck to your son, is he in Div 362 by chance if so, maybe my brother and him know eachother. I wonder why they were chosen to do BS last???
We are all in this together. Just like our Recriuts are going to be during Battle Stations. Can you imagine how emotional that will be when they get to replace the Recruit caps for Navy caps. I am sure some of them cry.
Kris,
I'm so glad to hear news about your sons letter. It does sound like they are doing good. I'm so glad that they have received all their flags. My letters aren't as informative as your letters :) Dakota communicates like my brother, not much info! no news about Battlestations? We will be on the plane on the 25th so i hope we don't miss his call.
Hey Kris, I just got a letter from Dakota and he said that he knows Josh. He said that they were right across from him. :) That made me feel good that they have a connection in bc. Dakota sounded good but I still haven't received a call :(
I Know it is hard, Dakota was the type of kid that would text me over the littlest things. So its hard not talking to him at least once a week. I can't wait to hug him !!! Do you know when they have to go thru that gas chamber drill? I hope that they aren't sick when they do that.
I'm so glad to hear that you will be feeling well for PIR. Where are you staying? We are staying at the Navy Lodge. Dakota's last name is Rhodes, he is or was the section leader. He said that is very stressful!! So I haven't heard if he is still the section leader. He called his girlfriend yesterday and is sick now :( Did you get a phone call yesterday?
Kris, i just want to see how you are doing and let you know that we will keep your healing in our prayers..
So I wonder if our boys have gotten to know each other?
Thank you so very much Kris for your help with my son James.. I can not tell yu what it means to me and I know his spirit will be lifted with them cards from Fellow Navy Moms.. He wont feel so alone when he see so many people behind him.. Thank you again so very much.. your the greatest!! I requested you as a friend so I can PM you the address
Kris, I am sure that you will be tired but fine for graduation. Remember prayer can move mountains. I was lucky enough not to have to a mast. but was fortunate that the doctors took my tumor and reconstructed. That was 15 years ago. Since that time, I have a tumor removed in my saliva gland and the other ovary. I have been cancer free for 6 years now. I was 18 when I was first diagnosed. I know you will be as lucky. Please know I added you to the prayer chain.
