Hi Charlene.......I love the beautiful new winter wonderland pics.....I hope you have a great weekend and get a nice surprise visit!! Smiles..Andrea :)
Hi Charlene, I'm so glad you responded. I haven't had any luck finding other MC moms. My daughter is at Ft Meade and seems very happy with her decision to join the Navy. If I may ask, what does your son do as an MC Specialist? I know that they joined a lot of different jobs under MC. My daughter enjoys writing, making and editing videos and photography. I did take a peek at your photos and they are all nice . That is the Golden Gate Bridge isn't it? I have been to San Francisco a few times and it just happens to be one of my favorite cities. If it weren't for the earthquakes, I would have loved to live there. Such a beautiful state. I read your blog , Letting Go and you said everything I was feeling and thinking when my daughter left for bootcamp. I just had to contact you. So, has it gotten any easier for you? My daughter PIR'd on 12/24/08. As you can probably tell, this is all new to me. Kristin is the youngest of 5 kids and the only one enlisted. Her nationality is Cuban/ Puerto Rican.
Hi Charlene
Just stopped by to wish you a Merry Christmas and hope you made it to Everett.....They sure are having alot of snow out there!! Hope you are having a wonderful time!! God Bless you All!! Andrea :)
Hi Charlene, As you my son is also so grateful and tells us how much we have meant to him and he is so generous w/his sister and younger brother. A son a chef in New York well Ill have to visit his restraurant next time I go to NY. where does he work? I take it u live in california? I live in Mass. I lived in California when I was 2 to 9 then came back east after parents divorced. would go back a few times havent been there in many years. My son will be training in san diego for about 8 weeks in the spring. My son is in Greece at the present. what a pleasure to talk w/u. Have a Merry Christmas.... good night
Hi Charlene. Nick is and ABF - fueler. He has only been in Everett for a few months, this is his first assignment after A school. Nick will fly home to Phoenix (where we are originally from) on Friday to attend a friends (also Navy) wedding. My husband and I are driving to Phoenix Christmas eve and will spend Christmas day with my daughter and grandbaby then will pick up Nick at the airport Friday night. I can't wait to see him. Nick lost his phone Saturday so we've been struggling trying to get him a replacement, the insurance on the phone is a joke. We can get a new phone once we prove we're not trying to pull a fast one on them. It's annoying the lack of trust these companies have because of the crooked people in this world. Ok....I've gone into too much detail here.
It's good to talk to another Lincoln mom. Have you clicked the link that Barb posted that shows the webcam? Lots of snow in Everett.
Hi Charlene just read ur little boy comment and I cried so true My son went in on sept.,11,07 and I will never forget that month I lost it so many times and sometimes I still break down. I am so proud of him but part of me will always miss the boy who lived home and would call from the cellar wreck room and ask to make him a grill cheese....like we lived in a mansion...lol someone said to durning that first few months isnt it like when ur daughter went off to college NO I can go see her, shes home for the holidays and we can see the progress of them fully growing into adulthood over the 4 summers... I believe this was a great fit for him and am so Proud just hard to let go to the next phase. I look forward to chatting w/you. How is your doing and where is he stationed and his job title? Happy Holidays Marie
Hi Charlene,
I'm Karen down south of you in Placentia. I see your son in on the Lincoln and my son KC is aboard the Davis out of WA. The ship is currently on deployment. I see you've been chatting with Diane (Shawn's Mom) down below. Both of our boys work together.
Hi Charlene.....That's great!! Well we'll be the only group wearing Boston sweatshirts and holding a banner for Kev.....amongst a crowd of 5,000 sailors plus who knows how many families who knows....the world is a small place some days. I am so excited.....I have to start packing.....talk to you soon...:) A
Hi Charlene......What a beautiful moment and so fitting to have the Abe pass by.....Grampa sending his proud nods of approval.....definitely a sign. Goodbye are never easy, but we live for our next hello Mom and the next big hug!! I leave Sat. I am really excited. I told Kev I would hold him a long, long time and probably cry alot, but then I said maybe I won't cry because I'm so proud of you. But I know I am so emotional all bets are on me going thru a whole box of kleenex!! He is real excited to see us too. It will be so nice and wonderful to share it with all of the other Abe families. Wish you could be there. I hope I run into Brandon and his girl....I think I'll recognize him from his pics. It would be a rare sighting amongst all the people that will be there. I'll catch up with you soon. Andrea :)
Hi Charlene.....just thinking of you today. How's Brandon? I'm sure your time together is wonderful.........Hugs to all of you.....I've talked to Kev...he wants pepperoni pizza and gushers waiting for him when he gets off the ship...LOL...that's my boy!!! I am so excited...just a few more days..... talk to you soon. I'm looking forward to some great pics. I think I saw a couple of new ones.... Smiles..:) Andrea
I am sure you will enjoy your own homecoming with your son. How nice that Brandon will be able to video tape the homecoming. I am going out this weekend to buy a new camera so I can do the same. I wonder when they are having the parade in Everett. Bryan is off starting Monday and we are heading to Canada with him for a mini vacation. When is your son flying home? Bet you can't wait. Talk to you soon
Donna
Hi Charlene,
Hope all is well with you. I know you'll be having your own Homecoming before me and I wish you lots of hugs. I know you will have a beautiful memorial service and I will say a special prayer for you and your family. Enjoy your time together. Thinking of you....Andrea :)
thanks for the reply...I am sure heather will find her way..they just there a month ago and shawn is already gone...and she is used to being surrounded by family and friends...3000+ miles from home...kinda hard, would be for anyone...she will spread her wings.
She is used to the military life....she was just discharged from the navy in May...so she had been there and done that...
xoxo
