that is okay that you didn't get a chance to come to the mall. gracie was getting a little cranky by that point (it was a long weekend). we actually ordered in chinese food for supper that evening before andrew went back to base. andrew actually is still in gl for corpsman school. it will be really nice when he is able to come home for the weekends. he has been able to call every day with his cell phone, and that helps a lot. hope you are doing well. make sure you keep in touch also. :)

My son is enjoying being in California. It's a long way from home though. We are in Texas, but hope to go visit him this summer. Since AZ does alot of computer work, I usually talk to him via email since he works 2-10. Where is Jason hoping to be stationed. Does he hope to go to the east coast, or does it really matter to him.
my son has been in meridian ms since Sept 12th. 2008 he PIR'd sept 5,2008 he's very bored and he has his cell phone which has a camera on it the only thing is he can't get picture messages. we have Verizon wireless.

Amy, I know you must be super excited to go see him Valentines weekend, but before you make the long trip, just make sure he has liberty and is able to spend time with you. Since he will have only been there a couple of weeks, he might not be able to leave base yet. I don't want to sound negative, but I don't want you to be disappointed if you go and can't see him. Just check first. Best of luck

Looks like you were at Flanagans, we had a PIR meet and greet there as well, 11-26 08. It was fun, but not as great as seeing my son! LOL. That PIR was something else wasn't it? Anyway, wanted to say a personal hi, and to tell you you might want to take your sailors name off your site. You could call him Jay??? only because, this is a public site, all the guys are looking at this, all the Officers are and maybe a few bad guys as well.
But, it's up to you, just no last names. It's about half and half as to who uses first names and who doesn't . It's great that you're going to visit!

I know I cant even believe that we are done to our last week! Its so hard to believe that this time next week we will be in their arms:) I cant even believe we made it and we are here:) Aw that is good that your letter was good, I got an amazing one too he seems just so excited to be done and see me:) I am glad he is just as excited he said like the sweetest things! That is amazing that you leave in 2 days yay! I leave Wednesday I cant even believe it. I already started packing haha and today I did a bunch of errands and got all my tolitries and all that! That is crazy that its -40! I have like no warm clothes haha oh well I'll just bring my big jacket! Well I hope I hear back from you before you leave but if not I'll see you very soon:)

Hi Amy-
I know, I can't wait either. We're staying at the Residence Inn. We got a suite as Scott's girlfriend is coming with us and I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable and have to stay in the same room as Bill and me. Our daughter (who is 23) is also coming so she and Kelsey (Scott's gf) will stay together. They know eachother pretty well so it won't be uneasy for them. Bill and I are debating the whole driving vs shuttle thing. He says he's leaving it up to my good judgement on what to do. I just want to get there and see that kid of mine! :) We've been so lucky that he's been able to call home several times during the past 2 weeks as he was being reclassified and needed so much information. Of course Sunday was the only "real" call we got. The others were like 20 seconds long and very formal. I spoke to him on Tuesday for about 15 seconds and then he called Rachel (my daughter). Haven't heard from him via phone since so he must be all squared away with info now. We got a very short letter on Wednesday and he said it would be his last. With MLK Day on Monday there won't be mail and he said that he figured we'd see him before we got another letter. That's ok as we'll hear from them again after BS next Wednesday! Have a great weekend and we'll see you 1 week from today!!!!
Yes Amy, No calls last night was a good thing :-) Captains Cup will be fun.... its compitition between all the different divisions. Sarah really enjoyed it. And where will you be in Illinois? I hope you will have computer acess and able to keep in touch. Especially next Wednesday! Grab my cell phone number off the meet and greet page. See you next week! :-D
