I wanted to take a 3 bdrm 2 bath apartment for a month in Waikiki. I thought we could go there for winter vacation, go to his homecoming, then leave after 12 -14 days, so he can have the apartment to himself and invite girlfriend to stay for a few weeks while he looks for a permanent place. His younger brother was rearing to go and had invited friends to join us. But big brother nixed the idea. Oh, well again.

Our son prefers that we don't go to HI to see homecoming like we wanted to. He wants to come to CA instead after he gets back. :P :( Oh, well.

Lynn, it looks like we used the same style vanity sink and faucet for the half bath on the redo we did in Palo Alto. It looks like they did a fine job. Enjoy. When is your son coming home to see it? Mine is coming next month.

I am in contact with 5 other moms with sons on the same boat. One of the moms said her son really likes my son because my son won't let the senior officers yell at his guys. My son would rather take the heat. Of course, he takes the person(s) aside later on and talk things over. Anyway, do you think it would be inappropriate if I ask one of the moms, if they are around when the pinning ceremony is to take a photo? Do they take pictures anyway? thanks

wow. when you get a chance take a photo of the marble. I am really curious about the marble surgery. Also, how did they discover the offending pipe. Check on your cc&rs. Since it is the original builder's fault, if they are still in business, see if there is a recourse. B

Could you send me the Chaplin's address? I'd like all my knitting friends to add a little note to our box (s). Thanks for organizing this and keeping track! Looks like we're real close to the 250!

Water may be backing up because the angle of pipe is not enough to allow gravity to work - if there is no blockage in sight. You may have to go further down the line the investigate. a lot of times if the main drain is above the basement level, you need to install a sewage ejector pump system (I think that's what it's call). I would say, off the top of my head, the cost would be $1000 to $1500. Did you get a permit for this bathroom? If you did, the city would have required necessary plumbing specs to make it work.

OK, they're back in the mail. My PO guy didn't even make me pay the postage again...but I'm not supposed to tell anyone that. LOL
