I think it is later after noon.. One mom said it was 3:45 when she got it. I would transfer your phone to your daughter when you get on the plane and then change it back. I know they will be exhausted. I cant wait... This is worse then the first week they were gone...
Have a safe trip - I will look for you! I'll be at the Marriott in Waukeegan - Residency Inn - and have my son's cell 831-539-6099 I won't arrive until 9 or so on the 12th and will leave at the crack of dawn on the 14th - running my own business doesn't give me much FUN time!
I am going to turn in now. We have to leave for the airport at 4 am to hopefully miss some of the rush hour traffic. I hope you plan to stay until Monday if you can. It was sad to see so many of the Sailors with no parents around today! Felt bad for them! I was an adopted mom today! Had a car full so noone had to be alone!
The weather was awesome! got up to 61 yesterday. Today hi 40's. Chicago is about 35 miles south of the base. Very mature. What stuck me the most is meal times. How he was so different. He ate his meal did not talk. Today he ran out of gas and was tired. Emotions were hitting hard all the way around. He was off the diet and it didn't agree with him. I would encourage you to encourage Nicholas to continue eat healthy. I think Rusty was really paying for that a bit. I felt bad for him. He has really matured. I am very proud of him. This is also a hard emotional time for me... I have to let him go... again..
I am not sure. He will not PIR with anyone if he passes his run. I think a PIR and send him to school. So I don't have a date on anything. My head hurts just trying to figure it out
We had to return him to the base by 7:30 on Fri and Sat. Then tonight was 6:30. We were at the base to pick him up at 7:30 am. Rusty did not have Watch all weekend but did have duty this morning but was able to get it done and still be ready to go on time. Saturday we went into Chicago. I recommend if you do that take the train. We were stuck in traffic quite a bit coming back.. scared we would be late. We made out ok.. but do think about the train. Picks you up right at base. Today we just went to breakfast with several of his shipmates then took a car load to Gurnee Mills Mall. Then back to hotel so he could take a long nap! Busy weekend but so happy we had quality time together!
It was awesome! We have had a wonderful weekend! I am just sad to say so long for now! The hard part has really begun... I knew when boot camp was over I would see in 7 weeks. Now I have no idea.. Hugging and letting go is tough! Savor every moment when you get them! :)
Hi Theresa, I just sent you a Facebook request - we will have the best time seeing our darling boys PIR - I just taught myself how to use a mini video cam and will post to facebook - I will look for you on the 13th = I'm SO EXCITED!
Scott's A school is in South Carolina. His original PIR was 2/6. I talked with him Saturday and he has two more chances to pass the run before his ship date. I am sure he will.

Niles is doing very well and is happy - he says he found his calling, and that I was right! I steered him towards the Coast Guard first, and after the I TOLD YOU SO tattoos on his calves prevented that, I suggested the Navy - and he is thriving!
Hi Theresa, I am so glad Nick is doing well. It looks like I am waiting for any final decision. If Scott passes his run in time for BS then he will go to SC on the 11th or 12th. So no graduation ceremony. If he it takes him any longer than he will PIR on the 27th. I will be fine missing the ceremony knowing he passed this week. Not liking it but not much to do but be proud of him. He is so worried. Warm regards, Jenn
Hi Theresa, I am sorry I think I missed your comment. George sent a letter stating he wil be calling on Wends. Laurie heard that Battle Stations are on Tues. So stick by your phone you wont want to miss the "Mom, I am a Sailor" Note to self: BOX OF KLENNEX
