Hi Jennifer! Thank you for invite! I am happy to meet some other NC moms! I had hoped to make it to the NC Moms meeting...but, can not get off work that day....however, I will make it one day and I am excited to meet other momsl! :) Zach graduates on Jan 30 (assuming no disasters for him and God willing!! :) ) and Nathan leaves on jan 25...Since Zach has A school at Great Lakes...i am hoping...praying ..that the boys can see each other....nate misses his twin brother ....as crazy as this sounds...this is the first time in 19 years they have ever really been apart!
Hi Jennifer..........saw you on NC moms site couple of days ago........we are REALLY close, within miles of each other.........wondering if we were in school together?
Sure ...you can join our family, all you have to do is pay for your own plane ticket, and hotel room.....LOL...also plan on spending a week in Hawaii too. We will be gone for about 3 weeks...2 weeks in Australia, and 1 week in Hawaii. How does that sound???
Hi Jennifer - you said your son is an EM5 - did you mean he's an EM2 and his paygrade is E-5? Our sons chevrons and medals look the same and that is what my son is. Just a reminder we're not supposed to talk about timetables although I understand your excitement.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for adding me....my son is currently stationed in Australia. He spent 4 1/2 years stationed in Guam aboard the USS Houston. He and 3 others were hand picked by the Navy for a program (kinda like a foreign exchange student program) to serve on an Australian sub. Therefore, he is currently going to their "A" school, and then will earn his Australian dolphins. He has been in Australia since the beginning of September. My other son, who is in the Air Force, and I are planning a family reunion in Australia next year for Christmas.
Hi Jennifer ~ I will write to my son and see if he knows David. How long has David been on the sub? I was wondering if they were at GC together...looks like your son is an EM also. Did you know their motto is "The Ghost of the Coast"?
This is Linda's daughter, I'm a CTT in Georgia and I just wanted to let you know you can't be posting dates your son is deploying, ports of call and dates of return. You should read up on OPSEC, operational security. Putting out these dates and such is putting your sons life, and the rest of the crew in danger whether you realize it or not. Their missions are top secret, and having a clearance I myself don't even know where the subs are 1/2 the time. Just be very careful about what you post on the net...anyone can read what you write.
I guess that does make a difference!!! Prilliman and my son has my maiden last name, I am re-married now and when I had Garry, his father and I were not on the best of terms and so I gave him my last name, which at the time I had as well. It has worked out well in the long run too!!! His natural father is not in the picture a great deal and when he is, he acts like they are only friends. He has missed out on allot of specials things with our son, but I have the glory of being the influence in his life!!
Thats amazing that you still remember the road you live on. Church Rd is still there, but slowly changing too. Jay Wren, well I don't think so, but who knows with my husband's family. If it has two N's, then it is very possible, but most of the time it is with only one, ours is with two.
Wow!! So have you stayed on this site the entire time that your son has been in the Navy? I have to say it gives me great comfort.
Wow!! Yes, it is a small world. What year did you move away from Sterling? I have grown up and lived in the Herndon Sterling area all of my life. I can't wait until we are able to move to South Carolina!!! About 5 yrs from now, but it will happen.
I got a call from my son last night!! It was such a surprise as I was hoping for a call on Sunday and when we didn't get, I was sorta down about it. So now I am completely happy after hearing his voice. I hope that we get to meet at the Greet and meet, not sure if you are going or not as I think from the sounds of it your son is already done with BC. Anyways, nice to keep in touch.
