Hi Dawn, Hope you had a good day today! It is raining here all day today, all we want to do is sleep. I just love your page, your yorkies are so cute. Hope all is well, just wanted to drop you a line.

A wonderful Poem...

I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young marine saluted it,
and then he stood at ease.

I looked at him in uniform
so young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert.
He’d stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers’ tears?

How many pilots’ planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers’ graves?
No, freedom is not free.

I heard the sound of taps one night,
When everything was still.
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.

I wondered just how many times
That taps had meant “Amen,”
When a flag had draped a coffin
Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom is not free.

I really like the pictures of Teeny Rene Jewel showing how tiny she is but for some reason Emerald seems to have a hold on my heart. I have no money right now due to being unemployed for the last six months or so. And it looks like I will be going to college starting this fall until Dec 2010. Hopefully by then the economy will have gotten much better and I will be able to use my new degree to get a good paying job in this area. Then I would like to see what puppies are available for adoption. Would you consider selling to someone so far away?

To Our Special N4MS Moms!

Mother’s Day Blessing

Just as God gives to each rose
A gentle touch of dew
And gives unto each evening sky
The lovely sunset’s hue

So may he give to you
From his enduring love
Great happiness and hearts’ content
And blessings from above.

Wishing you a very Happy Mother's Day from Brenda S., aka, Sailor Moon

Dawn,

Thank you for the Mother's Day wishes. Of all the holidays, this is the one my mother loved the best. This is the one day that she wanted to hear from all eight of her kids. I miss getting to send her a boquet of flowers and a card and giving her a call. This will be the second year that I will not be able to celebrate with her.

Happy Mothers Day to you as well! Tom is finally in Pensacola, but still on hold for A school. He met a girl through one of the guys at GL and flew in to meet up with them all last weekend in Kansas City Mo and they hit it off and I think he's in love. But on the upside, he's smiling like he's never smiled before! LOL
All my love to you and the furkids and the regular kids and the hubby and the mom and everyone!

Dawn that photo of Rene is so sweet I do not think when the time comes that you will be able to give that jewel up.
We are going to Australia on vacation for two weeks. My sister lives there and I have always wanted to visit so Geoff gave it to me for my birthday/Mothers day gift. I am so excited we leave tomorrow.
I hope you have a great Mothers Day give my love to your Mum as well.

How far away in miles is your furthest furkid? Do you do a background check on your adoptive families? I think caring for a furkid is just as important as caring for our two-legged kids. I understand how the four-leggeds become a huge part of your heart.

Dawn, she is beautiful! I have a miniature schnauzer that I love dearly, and I know how attached a person can get to these wonderful companions. Shadow will be 12 in July and I just don't know what I'll do or how I will tell Ethan...any suggestions? I mean, I think he will live to be around 15 or so, but I can't guarantee that (even though I am doing all in my power to keep him healthy)...

She is such a little doll! I went back to your blog and saw the sisters pictures. A friend of mine just adopted an 18 month old Yorkie. Now I know up close and personal how cute and loving they are. Have you found homes for all four of the girls? What little I know about breeding comes from the book "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle." It must be so hard to let them go after getting them started on their lifes path.

Dawn, thanks for checking in with me. Billy is doing fine. Now in his second of 4 C-Schools. This class ends around the 3rd week of July and then he gets a two week break before the next class starts. He's going to come home during that break spending one week helping at our local Navy recruiting office. He's been to AZ a couple of times since he arrived in S.D. Once to see me and the other to see his dad. I am going out to S.D. Mother's Day weekend. It should be fun and I'm looking forward to the trip.
I'm crossing my fingers Joseph won't go on hold waiting for A-School. From what everyone has been posting on the IC group page, the situation does not sound good. Is Joseph still wanting to go to the East Coast for a duty assignment? Billy loves S.D. There is so much to do there and the weather is nice too.
I love the picture below of Teeny!! Hope you haven't been working too hard.

Oh, Dawn! She is so precious! You need to put your hand next to her so we can see how big she is! It's a little hard to tell. At 10 oz. she must be really tiny! Seeing her makes ME want to have her!! She is sooo cute!

Blessings!
