Cori, I can't thank you enough for the wonderful gift you gave me. What a joy to see my boy! It is really so special to be able to get a glimpse before time thanks to you. Bless you and your family, and most of all your new "Sailor".

Yes, Cori I will be there. Where is the meet and greet?
You sound so proud...as we all are. I moved here to live with my mother because she is alone and has too much house & land to care for. My father passed away 3 years ago this weekend and she offered me a place to live to get out of the awful winter and snows in Michigan. I like Homosassa. It sure has grown up alot around here. I hadn't been here for 10 yrs until now. I am looking for any type of work because I am a Jack of all trades and a master of none. LOL! I have had alot of different types of jobs, but just today received a call back on a Preschool in Crystal River that I applied to. They want me to come in on Thursday for a 2nd interview. I have been teaching preschool for the last 5 years so figured I might as well try that here too. Was really looking for an office type job, receptionist, secretary and such, but no luck at that. Really could use health insurance, but a paycheck right now is more important. Those pesky bills don't stop coming when you are unemployed. haha! Thank you for the offer of spreading the word, it is ALWAYS appreciated. My son has been in the Navy for 2 yrs. His PIR was Oct., 07. He is stationed in Virginia as a K-9 Master-at-Arms. You are going to be so blown away at PIR when you see your son march in with his unit. It is so touching and makes a mother so very proud. You won't believe how mature your son has become once you see and talk to him. I know you are going to enjoy every minute. I did and I cried my eyes out. Make sure that if you don't have a video recorder that you order a copy of the ceremony. It is so worth it. Talk to you soon.
Thanks for the welcome, Cori. I am learning my way around here and looking for ajob. Boy they sure aren't very easy to come by. I look forward to talking to you all here in Florida. Maybe we could meet sometime and talk about our kids. You have a very nice looking son. What is his specialty?
hey there! yeah I will be in Great Lakes for graduation.. how are you holding up? Lee is in the submarine program... Is Cori by chance in it??? HOw are you holding up?? Its almost over right :)
That's cool that you have a Skillet song on your player, most people have never heard of them. Nolan went to one of there concerts before he left.
You have quite a diverse selection of music represented. :)
Hang in there Cori! I haven't gotten one either and my son left on the 28th. I keep upbeat by remembering how good he sounded on the phone. Before you know it, we'll all be there in GL crying over and hugging on our kids! :)
My son's PIR is also Nov. 25th. I did get his form letter last week as well as a 5 minute call. Thank goodness too...apparently the contact info had changed from what was in the form letter. I'm glad he was able to call and sort it out before I sent all his mail to the wrong address. Have you heard from your recruit yet?
I didn't get a call but I got a letter today that said he was in ship04 div007 with a different street address from the form letter. The letter was so depressing. He said it was awful and he hated it! I hope I get a more upbeat letter or a call soon. :-(
We are planning to go to Hawaii. We will make plans as soon as we know when he is going to be deployed. We will probably go out there when his ship returns from deployment. They say that when the ship comes back it is a big deal and very impressive. Tell your son when he goes to A school that if he finishes in the top 3 in the class yoou get to pick your orders from what's available. My son finished #2 and there was only 1 order for Hawaii and the person that finished #1 wanted to stay in San Diego so that's how he got to choose Hawaii.
I know that every letter I wrote to Joe I would end it the same way. I love you miss you and I am very proud of you. He should find out this week exactly when he will be home in November. This is going to be a very hard Christmas for me Joe will be in Hawaii and my other son is a Citrus County Deputy Sherriff and will be working for Christmas. This will be our first Christmas with out our Kids. I'm happy for you that you have been able to talk to your son. I didn't get my first call until he was gone for 3 weeks. We were happy to get 3 calls from him. Our calls were long they lasted for about 1 hr. each. Have s good evening.
I,m so glad that you heard from your son. Whenyou start getting the letters every week it will make things a little easier. My son told me that getting maill in boot camp is like christmas morning . I tried to makee sure he got mail every day. They get mail M-F at first the mail is a little slow getting to them .
Great! Thanks for volunteering for the rescue list! Now that we are friends send a private message with your name, phone number and location! Thanks so much!
