Hi Lynn,
Just wanted to drop in and see how Wade is doing and what he is up to....How are you doing? Did yall just about flood with all the rain we've all been getting? I'm so glad we're on the top part of our hill...won't flood here, but we may be stranded sometime...oh well....life is surely interesting. Take care and stay in touch.

Hello Lynn,
Our Son is a NUKE, in power school and is very Sad and depressed. He said that he is having panic attacks. He said that he tried reaching out to his superiors, but he was disciplined. We are very concerned for his well being. We advised him to speak to the Chaplain ASAP as advised by Susan. Is there anything else he can do. He is crying out for help, how can we help him. Sheila C.

Well, I'm glad to hear from you about Wade! I'm just getting nostalgic and really missing my First Navy Mom friends really badly. We get so involved in the next thing and the next and I really get too many irons in the fire! Its great to hear from you, I'll check back and catch up when I have more time. I thought you had more than two in the military??

Hi Lynn, I'll post some photos of the USS New York leaving New Orleans this morning
in a couple days ....... my daughter is expecting her firstborn any day and we're on the
"fast track" at the moment! Truly, it was incredible to see that ship coming down river in the fog, with all the sailors standing on deck.

Hi Lynn, just got back to my office as I was able to watch the USS NEW YORK make her way past the Port of New Orleans and underneath the Huey P. Long Bridge. What a sight ... even with the fog! Those sailors on deck were so sharp, waving their flags and their hands at us on the dock. Made me shiver ... and say ANOTHER prayer for all our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, ETC :) I did go and add my name to the helper list for the November event in New Orleans. Looking forward to it. Blessings, Donna

Too funny guys! My son just came off the ship and Maria B was going to meet him he was standing there waiting and she tells me to tell him she is coming to his left he looks up and says WOAH! I see her, she is flying! lol...she laughed and said I'm so excited I can't wait to meet him. Felt like she was meeting her son...and then....I heard him ask, do you have room for my buddy too and she said sure and off they went. I think she just kidnapped my baby! lol Awww, I feel so much better. I hope she gives him a great big hug for me!

We tried to meet with Darlene's son Lawrence, but the ship was on lock down, so we are going back this afternoon. We went and bought some jeans and a new belt, and a few tops from Old NAVY!! We searched and searched for his lost keys, couldn't find them but did manage to find a lone kitten hiding under a plastic bag an the side of the road!!! We are heading back there now, just to keep you posted!

Hey...I didn't get a message from her. I heard from a couple of the other Moms and some went out to look for his keys but had no luck at all. He is going to try and come off the ship after work today and meet back up with them...if any other moms are in the area and wanna help him out in any way he is going to call me when he can go off...I too am in Virginia and going crazy. His shipping is leaving in the morning and I'm not sure when but he is heading Norfolk then. He is soild broke and we haven't had a chance to get anything straight to get his bank accounts opened back up so his check will go in the 15th and he has no way to access it yet. He is crazy busy he said and running in circles and still in pain. I so appreciate everything you are all doing to help us here. God Bless you all. A special thanks to Maria and Deena's son Carry (I hope I spelled that right) They were out looking and waiting for him this morning and then he couldn't come off the ship. They too helped him with a few things.

Hi again Lynn,
No he is out of the hospital. The bullet went in and straight out. He is back on the ship and they gave him a couple days to try and get things straight. With the vehicles tied down on the ship though I don't know how he is suppose to get around and get to where he needs to now to take care of some of it. He didn't have but a couple pairs of jeans to his name and a belt that his dad gave him before he left for boot camp 2 years ago, they took them both for evidence. He wears a 34-34. I don't know what they can or want to help with but I posted my cell number in the last message if they need to know anything else it's fine for them to call me. The keys were his house keys, some keys to stuff on the ship, and his only car key! That is a big concern at this point I think the ship leave tomorrow???
