I stayed on the one on Coronado. My husband is a reservist, but I made the reservations under Sara Jane's name because she was staying with me. I have a military ID to come and go on the base, but I don't know if they issue you a temporary one if you're staying there with a service member. You'll need one though, if you travel on and off base without your military family member...
Hi Carol,
I stayed at the Gateway last month and it was fine! Clean, comfortable and great service at the desk. They also have free movies in the lobby to check out. We didn't stay in the room much, but the bed was comfy and the little fridge was great for keeping snacks/drinks cold. Can't beat the price!!!
Hi Carol, we are heading to see my son in Coronado end of Aug. I see you are staying at the Gateway? Can you give me the phone or website so I can book our stay? I would really appreciate it. I can't find it online??
thanks!
Kelley
Carol,
Thank you so much for the information. I will check with Aaron about the hotel.
You have a beautiful Sailor!!! From my understanding Point Loma's base is fairly small. I will see if Aaron knows Chris. He has been out there since January. Thanks again!!!
From the sounds of it sounds like it should pass the smog here. 32nd street is another navy base in san diego. What she could do to go there is take the bus to the trolley station in old town and then get on the blue line and it will drop her off near the base and take a bus the rest of the way. I hope you have a great day and talk to you later.
Hello Carol, I know times are tough. Our cars do need to pass smog here, if she hasn't done anything to her car in the ways of modifications she should be ok. Point loma is sorta way in the back you could say. But my son for awhile could not drive and he did take the bus to places if I didn't take him where he wanted to go and had his friends pick him up. What kind of car does your daughter have? A thought for her maybe to seel it at home and buy something out here? Just another thought.
Carol, I see your daughter is out in San Diego. I don't live or work that far from the bases and if she ever needs anything contact me and I will help her. I do know there is a bus i believe on base that will take you to the trolley station at old town. Also the buses can take her to the beach. If you have any other questions just ask my son is stationed at coronado.

Hi Carol, Well congrats to your daughter, I am happy that she has made it to graduation day....My daughter isn't starting her class until the 23rd....at last...she'll be there awhile. But I hear C.... is going to be about 3 hours away from N.....hahaha... I am sure they will find some time to see one another, although I hear N.... class are very intense and may not have much time to do much else....How's life treating you....still working nights? we are still doing fine here, we even had three days in the "70" range...a blessing...I was sick of the grey skies...keep in touch.....
Carol; Is your daughter graduating this Friday? We won't be able to go but my daughter and son-in-law lives in San Antonio so they are going and my 4yr.old grandson is going to pin his badge on. I can't wait to see the picturies. Sloan will come home next week for 12 days before he goes to VA. Is Chris going to get to go home before she goes to California? Hang in there ...I'm so thankful they both got sate side. Talk later.
Hey Carol....I was wondering if you fell off the planet also...LOL....How are you doing hope everyone is feeling good and healthy....How's your daughter doing.....mine is well although she had a case of food poisioning....she ate at the galley....or mess hall or whatever it is called, bad by the girls....Nikki says that it's not unusual to get food poisioning at least once a month....other than that not much happening here, well maybe spring is almost here....I did get to work in the yard after work yesterday...how about you are you still in the snow...? keep in touch...
Hey Girl, thought youfell off the planet!! Joshua is doing great. He is "Med-up" and this Thurs he will get assigned to another "A" school. He seems to be very happy and excited that his career will finally begin. How is Chris ding? Yes, I would love to hear from you. Call when you can. Miss ya.
She passed the rifle and is already into the Block 5. She said they started that on Friday. The base will either be Tinker ( AIR FORCE) or Ft. Sill (ARMY). You are right no Navy bases in OK. She said something about getting 14 days leave and it has to be approved by her sponsor. I'm going to ask about this Sponsor thing-- who is that? what does that mean? Do they need a sponsor if you are not on a Naval base? Have you run across this?
Nikki is doing well....she loves where she is....she probably won't go through what Christi and Josie are doing until after language school.
she is over her cold for the most part....she is an E3 now...she said she does an hour to two hours of PT a day....that is good, she is keeping herself focused and enjoying life. She is happier than she has been in years...I talk to her on the phone about once or twice a week but we text or email alot....I hope that your medical procedure went well and that you are comfortable tonight. I tell you after the past 6 months it is good to finally have things settle down...we finally got the rentals fixed, and rented, our cabinet shop is doing ok...better than I expected...but not great by any means, then we also closed on a house in Arizona....eventually we will do the snow bird thing, I want to live in a place that it doesn't rain for 8 months out of the year, and have cloudy skies for 10.....I want some sunshine, and I just can't handle the wet damp weather anymore, I have had broncitis since Oct. 8th.....so I need to dry out....we want to go down there this month and take measurements and make some new cabients, and then I can make some curtains, and buy some things, I need to stimulate the economy. haha.... Well I hope Chris does good and gets to move on......soon....you take care of yourself....
Hi Carol, I see you have one picture up do you have more? Do you need help? I will try to remember how to do it and let you know. Don't forget when you add the ADMIN. has to ok them before others get to see them. Josie will get a second chance today with the riflethey put the real ammo in and it was too hard for her to control. If she doesn't make it I don't know what will happen. She will be heart broken if she can't continue as an MA. She was so down yesterday but I know God has a purpose for everything. I'll keep yuo posted. How is Christie doing?
Hey Carol, How are you doing.....haven't talked to you in a bit....I don't get on to often lately, I am so ready for spring....my Mom went out and cut my roses, and other plants back for me, I just haven't had the time...I think this next week will not be as hectic has it has been...What have you been doing lately.....Has anyone come to your rescue yet with the pics.....light a fire under someone...hahaha....So I see that Chris is going through some training things...how is she doing? I am off to bed....
I'm glad you heard from her. Every week is a new challenge for them. This week it's night fire. I hope Josie does well. She is looking forward to it. Keep me posted and I'll do the same.
