Dear Pam,
Many moms helped me out when my daughter Kim was graduating. Your son will be in black uniform. With Kim, she gradauted in June of 2008, her uniform was all white. I was nervous wreck with that. White and I don't like one another! HAHA!
I won't be at your meet and greet, sorry. I had mine last year. That's nice, I met 3 moms that I was writting to.
I hope you stay in touch. I do have you down as friend.
You have a safe trip. I hope to hear from you next week. Congratulations again.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
Dear Pam,
You survived Boot Camp, good for you! HAHA! Congratulations on your son's pending graduation. I'll let you know, he's going to pass Battlestation.
That's the test the recruits enjoy, all night, non stop emergency action. They already learned the emergency training.
Very rare if some one fails the Battlestation, and if they do, they just retake it again before they graduate.
Le me share som info on graduation. If your flying in, the airport is O'Hara.
You will need a car.
1)Be at graduation no later then 7:30 (ish)AM. The security line is long. If your driving in, the line is also long and the cars get inspected. Seating is limited.
2) Bring photo ID, camera and tissues.
3)Bring a blank check. Your son will be picking up his Navy pictures. In most cases our beloved Sailors give the parents the honors of paying for them. Just to have an idea, last year's small package cost us $140.
4) Bring a towel for your son to sit on. His uniform has to remain spotless. Also becareful hugging him, if your wearing makep.
5)Bring some old clothes for your son. If he has the time to spend in the hotel room, he can be comfortable.
Have a safe trip!
I hope to hear from you again.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
Dear Pam,
How are you? I'm sorry, I didn't realize you wrote me on as friend.
How many weeks is your son in Boot Camp?
From what I'm looking at on you page, is he graduating Nov 13?
Congratualtions on his pending graduation.
I hope you stay in touch. I love sharing information about graduation.
Hi Pam, My son is Ship 14 Div 387.......Also a NUKE!!!! My name is Michelle and I'm very excited to meet you!! It is nice to be able to connect with another NUKE mom!! I hope you will be at the Meet & Greet at the Ramada, I would love to meet you. Hopefully we can stay connected after Boot Camp, since it sounds like our sons will be together. Talk to you again soon,............Michelle
Pam thank you for the friendship request. I love meeting new people. My son is on the Carl Vinson stationed in Virginia at the moment. He graduated boot camp in April of 2008. He is an ABF which is Aviation Fueling. I'm so happy for you that your sailor will be graduating on Friday November 13th., that day will be special for me also. I will have a new baby grand daughter born that day. She will be born by C-section. Her name is Delenie Leigh. But I will be there with you all at graduation in spirit. It is absolutely amazing. Tell me about your sailor. Does your son know where he will go for A school?
