Hey Kelly! Just thinking about you and our boys. To update you, John is in SanDiego, working on USS Pearl Harbor for now. He was assigned a different ship but I think there is more work for him on this one. He likes it. Bought a truck and stays off ship at night. It has a bit more elbow room.
He is coming home for 2 weeks at Christmas! Write back!
Hi Kelly. Just thinking about you and our boys. John was just home for his 15 day leave after A school. He is now in SanDiego as of July 11. We may not see him for a year he says (unless we fly to CA) He was excited to go there. He has already met up with guys he knows from GL. I know our 2 went into Chicago together John's last weekend there so I think they will keep in contact. How are you doing?
I've been out of touch for a while because of our move, but I'm back now. How are you, and how is Brandon doing? Are you holding up okay? Has he started any classes yet? I can't remember what his Rate is. Gabe is GM, at least for now. They have asked him to an audition for vocalist. We'll see what happens with that. He is on hold between ATT and GM A school at Great Lakes. The main thing he is doing is skydiving every weekend (and scaring his mother to death!). We haven't seen him since Christmas but have decided to visit him for July 4th!! I can't wait. We can't really afford it, but I figure in a couple of years, we won't remember the money we spent but will remember our time with Gabe!
HEY KELLY,
How have you been? How is Brandon? Well Carl and his family are going to meet me and Bud in Las Vegas for a week around the 2nd week of June. I can not wait. Him and Melissa are going to have another girl in September. I'm trying to get them to name her Emily Elizabeth. Or Emily Jane or Elizabeth Jane. I don't know if Melissa will go for it or not.
Well i just wanted to touch basis with you to see how you and brandon are doin'. Write back soon
Hi Kelly, soooo good to hear from you. You are such a wonderful lady. My husband just loved you too. We do have to keep in touch. I have to fix supper right now so I will right to you later. Just wanted to say HEY!
Hi there! I hope your doing well. Miss you my friend. Thinking about getting some ideas together to do a Mom reunion sometime next year. :) That would be fun!
John is good; same as everyone else, waiting for school to start.
I sent him a bunch of his stuff too so he should be set for awhile. Spends free time playing pool and games... nothing exciting.
Making friends and may take trips with others within limits of liberty phase 2. Probably won't get to GL for awhile anyway. If he is still that way in Aug., we may tie a visit in with a business trip at the Navy Pier. It all depends on my other 2 getting off to college for the fall. Good to hear from you.
Kelly! I see you hurt yourself. Hope it is getting better. Shoulders are the worst- well, you know, they take so long to heal.
How is Brandon? School start yet? Nothing yet for John unless he found out something today- I haven't talked to him today. He can't WAIT for school to start! I've been traveling alot since PIR but now that is all done. Back to reality for me.
Well, just thinking about you and Brandon. :) :)
Helllllo .. hellloooo what have you done with my friend Kelly? I know she is in here somewhere! Tell her that her friends miss her and need to know that she is doing well! <3
Ahhh Kelly... don't worry... they feed 'em! I think you're likely sad because of the permanence of the situation now. They still counted on us for something in Basic... I think getting them through that likely distracted us from the idea that this changes everything... we'll all adjust.
where is Brandon going to A school? Chris has to wait till March... starts in GL then finally going to p'cola in April. seems to be a lot of waiting... but as I recall my brother always told me that one of the skills you learn in any branch is waiting.
I think that they were SO tired and that even if they don't admit it (mine certainly wouldn't) the emotions of graduation and looking forward to the next step are a little over whelming. These transitions seem so excelerated from the norm... what we might have gone through from HS to college to work...
chris seemed more serious than I would have expected from him ... but I did see the old Chris too...
Really - can you imagine at that age ?? all of this change, responsibility and just the pressure of the pride we have in them? it seems pretty normal to me.
I think they have lots of support and direction. Don't worry... I'm sure he's fine... have you heard from him since PIR? I got a quick text today :)
hey kelly... wish I could have met you in GL... I'm proud of my sailor too! Chris is in GL till mid april then off to p'cola. Chirs was a bit serious.. Sick and tired I think but still excited about the next step. What a great weekend! Hope you are doing well.
Kelly, I see you made it home ok!! Never did run into you again after PIR. We kept busy- visited a few garden centers, let him sleep, went in the hot tub, shopped, ate and walked the mall alot on sun just to get him a haircut!
John was a bit quiet too Kel. I think they still were so tired and sometimes I am quiet when I have down time without having to plan, think, etc. They were in relax mode! John said he couldn't wait for A School so he could just sleep when he wasn't in school!!
So ,so glad we met- how cool is that anyway. I know our boys will keep in touch there. I am waiting for the call from him to find out his address to send him his stuff. Hope he starts real soon.
Just had to check in to see how everything went!! I know you must be on cloud nine right now, but I also know how hard it is to let go and come home. Let me know how you are doing! Lots of love, Susie

I went to ask if you had checked out and they said yes :(
Hope your trip home was uneventful!
