Hi Gina,I

t's time for all of us to get together again. We are going to meet Saturday, August 29. I placed a discussion out there a while back, but with summer and busy schedules there weren’t too many responses. With that in mind, I am going to invite all who are interested to my home and we’ll BBQ and pack boxes and just catch up on our Sailors. I don’t know that I have all of the Colorado Moms on my email, so please feel free to pass this along to any on your friends list. As always the more the merrier. My address is 12165 W. 85th Avenue Arvada, CO 80005 303-463-8912 (home) 303-982-0590 (work). Please go to the event page and RSVP if you are coming.

Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailors have adopted the USS CROMMELIN. The USS Crommelin is a frigate and the home to 252 of our sailors. They are based out of Hawaii and are currently on deployment. There are 250 males and 2 females aboard.
And, not only are they happy about us adopting them, they are ecstatic!
They will be half-way through deployment about mid-September, so we are going to help them celebrate with a HAWAIIAN LUAU. Let’s show our Colorado Love.

Check out Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailor site for more details. The discussion link is August 09.

Hope to see lots of your smiling faces 

Good Morning, Gina. Glad Andrew found Joseph. That would be great if he can get into Joseph's duty station. Life is wild here but should slow down after next week. School with be out and base ball season over. We are going down to see Joseph the weekend of the 29th. Anything Andrew needs? Beside you and AJ? How is AJ doing? Got to get back to work, stay in touch.

To Our Special N4MS Moms!

Mother’s Day Blessing

Just as God gives to each rose
A gentle touch of dew
And gives unto each evening sky
The lovely sunset’s hue

So may he give to you
From his enduring love
Great happiness and hearts’ content
And blessings from above.

Wishing you a very Happy Mother's Day from Brenda S., aka, Sailor Moon

Hi Gina, My name is Gena also. My hubby and I have been married going on 4 years June 9th. He leaves for bootcamp June 2nd. I am extremely nervous as this is a big change for the two of us as well as our 3year old daughter. What advice do you have? Also he is going to Pensacola for his schooling for Aviation also. I have been hearing a lot about holds for school. How does that work? And after he is in school how often do you get to see your husband? We were thinking of relocating to the Pensacola area for the duration of his schooling. Do you know if they allow them to live off the base while they are in school. Just extremely curious. How is your husband doing as well as you and your 3 year old with all of the change?

Talked to Joseph this morning, told him Andrew was there in the George Washington. He saidhe would keep his eyes open. Joseph said to tell him, he is in Building F (foxtrot) Room 278.

He should be able to find him. I know it is a big building, but Joseph made yeoman and has desk duty and a bunch of other duties too. I'll find out what his room number is, I feel so stupid not knowing it, and let you know. Joseph came home last weekend and got his car, so he has wheels down there. When Andrew finds him maybe they can go places together. And keep each other out of trouble. Stay in touch. Give my love to AJ, I know he misses his dad.

Hi Gina! I am a new Navy wife too. My husband is in GL as well on hold for A school. At least you know he'll be leaving at the end of the month for Pensacola, I have no clue when my husband will start A school. Your hubby's A school is an entire year? Wow, thats a long time. Do you have a son or a daughter? I know your baby is missing him too, because my children are. I have two sons ages 5 and 14 months, and I am finally having my daughter this June! Maybe we'll be able to help each other through the next few months.

I'm sure Andrew is so glad to get out of IL! I would too......How long he will be in Pensacola?

Hope you had a great Easter!. We are going to see Joseph in P'cola this weekend. They put him back to phase I liberty until he finishes indoc and AWAT, then it will change. However, it is an open base so we can go and spend some time with him. Tell Andrew it is hot and humid down here so get ready.

I am so sorry that you are going through such a hard time right now. I have to say it will go on untill your husband gets to his first duty station somewhere. It must be so hard for him because his daddy just left him and it is hard to understand what daddy is doing or why he is gone. Our kids are growing up in military world from the time they were born so it must be easier for them than your son.

I think you just have to be very open about what daddy is doing and explain what the Navy is and what you and his life is going to be like from now on. Like moving to different states or a different country. Show him videos and pictures you can find online like ships, deployments, sailors in uniforms....etc.

I will be experiencing the very first deployment with kids when we get to our next duty station. Last time he left for 4 month was on an airplane and older one just turned 2 so she really had no clue. It's gonna be so hard, older one being 6 or 7 and younger one being 4 or 5. They are so used to seeing their dad every single night their entire life and him leaving for 6 or more months. But we all have to go through it and we'll get through it.

After you guys move to the new duty station, he will be srounded by the kids in the exact same situation as him. He gets to see what exactly daddy do at work and the ship and everything. He will eventually get used to the Navy life.....but untill then, just hang in there. Keep talking to him about how the life gonna change so it wouldn't be a sudden change for him when you guys move. Keep him busy so he would not have time to think about daddy that often. I am always here to hear about your day, AJ or anything.

If you haven't you might want to read some of these.

Heard from Joseph. He will be leaving GL on the 9th headed to P'cola. Starts A school in July. At least he will be close enough to go and see on the weekends sometime if he has liberty. Hoping he will be some leave to come home for a little while. How's is Andrew coming in ATT?

Joseph said there is a long list waiting to go down to P'cola. He said he thought the next group leaves on the 9th of April, but he didn;t know if he would be in that group or not. I wish he would then maybe we could see him for Easter. We missed Thanksgiving and Christmas with him. I miss him so much. I'm hoping he can get some leave then maybe he can come home for a few days. I hope you and AJ get to spend a few days with Andrew at your in-laws. I know it has to be hard on you too.

Just heard from Joseph. He graduated ATT this morning. He said he is waiting to get orders to go to P'cola. He said he would problably have to wait 4 months to start A School there. I told him to hurry because I could drive that far to see him.

Thanks so much. I feel a lot better know that I know. I'm finding out that the military is like a totally different world than I am used to. My husband Beau has been in the DEP program for 11 months and it is still unclear. I guess it just takes time and getting used to.

Not real sure when he is set to finish ATT. He took off a few days last week, and he doesn't really tell me anything. I wish I know more, I really miss him.

Hi :) How was rest of your stay in IL? Did you guys go somewhere? I hope you got home safe. I'm sure your son was so happy to see you.

It was so nice to meet you! You are so smart, funny, friendly, warm and caring person/mother. I really wish you lived close to me so we can hang out all the time. Maybe one day ;) That's what's good about being the Navy families. There is always a chance we can get stationed at the same base in the future.

Well, let me know when you have any questions about bases, move...etc. If you are going to visit your husband in Pensacola, I can tell give you some info about there because I lived there too :)
