Britt is there until dec 2010. I am very proud of her. Right now she thinks she is going to be career. I think that would be great. Good luck to Daniel. Have a great time visiting your son. I know I enjoyed it so much.
Chris, We went to DC and visited all the memorials and Arlington National Cemetery (must see the changing of the guard). Went to a couple of the museums. There is so much to see. Went to Solomans Island and took a boat tour out of the Museum. We found the information at the visitors center right after you cross the bridge. We were going to go into Baltimore Inner Harbor area I guess that is really fun, But didnt make it I had ACl surgery in June and I was just to tired. There alot of good places to eat On Solomans Island also. What is your sons job? Britt is a MA VQ4
Sorry Chris,
Have not gotten back with you sooner. Plans have changed (just like the Navy, huh). Chris' orders were changed a few weeks ago, he leaves this Friday for S. Korea. He will be there for a year. Lisa, whose son Chris, PIR'd with Daniel but Div 908. He is in DC doing Ceremonial Color Guards and Honor Guards. My Chris has emotionally adjusted to the change but he was really disappointed that his orders were not carried through. I'm scared for him to go over there right now but this is the job he wanted to do, so we must make what we can of it.
Have a good day and blessings to you and your family.
Chris,
Christopher is in his 3rd of 6 weeks of C school, still at Virginia Beach. He should finish his Petty Officer Indoctrination and C school the last week in May then home for about two weeks. His preliminary orders are for the DC area so he will be close to Daniel! I'll have to get with you closer to the time that Christopher leaves and maybe they can hook up for an afternoon one weekend. We don't know yet if he is going to the Pentagon or Office of Navy Intelligence but he is happy either way. My cousin who lives in MD was at VB this weekend and took Chris to dinner. He's coming home this weekend for a friend's prom and to have breakfast with me on Mother's D.
Thanks for letting me know that Daniel will be close by. I'm planning to go to see Chris before Christmas if possible (I was permanently laid off in Feb.) and if I make it there I'll get Daniel's number and try to meet with him for some pics to send to you. Have a great day.
Mary
Hi Chris, How have you been? The weather in AZ is very likely different from NC for sure! Where is Daniel now? Is he liking his assignment? I like the new pics (not so new I'm sure but...) Have you gotten to see Daniel since PIR? Well I just wanted to check in and see how everything is going for you. C-ya.
Mary
Hi Chris, How are you! My thing is if you got God you got peace. Sam is out to sea. He is on his way to Australia. And he's ready to come home. He's tired of the sea. He's on his 16 country world tour over seas. On deployment I think is the proper way to say that. How is Daniel? And where is he. I love to give a person something that will stay on there minds even if it's just for a minute. And this one is for you. SpiritualGraphics.com
HI!!!!!! I cant believe Chris is stationed in Pax River too!!! How crazy is that?? my hubby and I actually just moved here its alot different that were used to but were adjusting. we decided against living on base and just got a really nice apartment about 3 miles from base. I hope things are going for you stay in touch!!!
Chris,
Hi my son finished boot camp December 19th and finished "A" school February....So he has been in Maryland since he graduated "A" school ..So he has been there like a month now... Its taking him a little to get use to it but what is nice is that he can come home on the weekends he is not working so almost like everyother one he can come home...He actually just left here a few hours ago and he did bring home a fellow navy man and a marine girl with him...It was a great weekend for all of us....
Hope everything goes well and if you need anything let me know...
Jodi♥
How are you doing? I haven't been on here in some time. I had to spend time with my oldest before he left for bootcamp. Now he is gone too. We have the empty nest thing going on. Justin is still in IL. He was supposed to start his pre-buds school in Jan. and it didn't start so he now is going to start at the end of March so we here. He was hoping to be in dive school by this time in Panama City Fl. I hope things are going well with your son. My oldest is going Nuke so I hope he doesn't have all this waiting.
Hi, Chris. Congrats to you and Daniel! That's wonderful! Then he's only a plane ride away. Jamesey will be in A school for 6 mos, Power school for 6 mos then Sub school 6mos. Then he'll probably be off to San DIego for a while. Thank you for your sweet thoughts. God bless our boys! Dawnrose
Hi, Chris! I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you. So did Daniel graduate on Jan.9th? My James did, and he introduced me to a bunch of his friends, but they were all so adorable! Where has Daniel been stationed now? James is in Goose Creek and just classed up (finally) last week. I wish him all the best! This is definitely the best thing our boys could have done with their lives.
Hi Chris! How's Daniel doing? My son is on the Enterprise at GL going through SCC right now for FC. He doesn't mind the schooling-he doesn't like being on hold though when he isn't in class. Just thought I would stop by and check on you. ~Mary
hey Chris, My son was living in Elgin,TX where he went to live with my brother when he turned 21, many of his friends would want to party all the time and he wasnt going anywhere with a job installing wires in homes, he likes warm weather not IL cold winters. Than one day he called me and said he joined the Navy, BC was in Great Lakes,IL so we could go to graduation..Jake is waiting for A school in Dam Neck, VA ..they told him he would go back to tx but that didnt happen.Once he starts A school Iam sure we wont hear much from him , he calls us often now, which has been good to hear from him.We have family that goes to spend all winter in AZ. It has been a cold winter and Iam ready for warm weather.. so glad to have other moms to talk to..
Hi Chris! It's good to hear from you. I'm glad to hear that Daniel is doing well. The job is not going. I've been able to work 4 days out of the past 7 weeks. Must be time for me to head back to school. :)
Christopher is doing pretty good. I just talked to him for about two hours. He and several others are going to Hooter's tomorrow night to watch the first part of the game. He volunteered to help with Special Olympics today and then slept for a couple of hours so he and some others could sit up and watch a movie late tonight. He is going out on the beach early tomorrow morning to run a couple of miles. He has found someone who wants to train for a half marathon so he is going to start training seriously again. I'm going next weekend to take his car to him. He was able to class up this week and had his first test yesterday. Most of the class did badly, four failed, he barely passed, the best score in the class barely broke 90. Now he knows what it's going to take to pass so I think he will do better from here out. I believe that if the reenlistment bonus for his job is the same before he gets out he will reenlist. Right now it's at $60,000 for another 6 year round. I bet he'll take it, especially if he is stationed in England working with NATO like a couple of others in his job are doing. He has decided he wants to go to the Navy Foreign Language school and study Greek and then work in Greece for 10-16 months. Who knows what these guys will end up doing. Keep in touch and let me know where Daniel goes. He may end up in Va. with Chris or they may end up on ship together in several months! How is Daniel's Mom???
