Hi Arlene, So glad you found us. My son Brandon is in Div 067 w/ your son Paul. I also got a call last night and believe me all is good w/ their Div. I am staying at the CandleWood Suites in Waukegan very close to the base and very nice.
At 10:15am on December 29, 2008 Mary Ellen said.... Welcome Arlene my son James is in DIV 069 PIR 1/15/09. THis group is the best group we are all here for each other.
mostly everyone in the group is staying at the navy lodge, i have included two links for you one of the navy lodge and one for RTC recruit training center, have any question just fire away we are here to help.
Hi Arlene: My son is in the same div. 067, and PIR date 1/15/09 as your son. Welcome to the group. This is a great website. I heard from Tom last night also. He said everything with him was going great. He didn't get to talk very long, but just the sound of his voice was awesome. Glad you got to here from Paul also.
Dear Arlene,
Don't worry, you will recieve the grad package. When you do, please reserve a room as soon as you can.
It's true about the four passes. Now, I was told to inform moms, when this question came out. It used to be, as long as the people had photo ID, no one would be turned away.
Now, the Navy for moms administrator informed us, the greeters, ( any one can greet) To tell moms to call the base about that question, if more passes could be issued.
I know, a few times in the past, moms told me that the families on both sides and neighbors were coming. That's taking advantage. The seating is limited, and there is approxiamately 800 graduates a week.
So, yes there is only four passes, but again, you can call the base and ask for a deffinate answer on that. I have one phone number you could call on that. The number is 1 847-688-2405
Please Let me know.
Take care and God bless.
Barbara
Dear Arlene,
How are you doing?
Relax, Paul is doing fine and in good hands with the Navy.
It takes a few weeks for the recruits to get into the rountine of Boot Camp and over being homesick.
I just looked at the calender, the graduation should be Jan 16, 2009. Gradautions are always on Fridays.
I have a short term memory, did you say you did receive the graduation package yet?
If not, it'll probably be this week. The grad package has a list of local hotels. It also will have the date of graduation for Paul's Division.
Also, a popular question, the PIR is the graduation!! HAHAH!!!
You'll be fine. Please stay in contact with other Navy moms. There are also groups you can join and I'm always around. Together we'll help you through Boot Camp...we haven't lost a mom yet!! HAHA!!
Please don't hestitate to write.
Take care and God bless.
Barbara
