Pat, thanks for inviting me onto the Nimitz group, but I don't have a sailor on the Nimitz -my daughter is on a destroyer, and my son is on shore duty in San Diego

Hey! I know on the Nimitz page you guys were talking about some kind of packs you could send that maybe included a blanket. Is there a special place to order them or can i just sent my son any kind of blanket?

Thanks. I guess I am just having one of those "I really miss my kids" night. One lives in WA, one in TX, one in China and the sailor. I will get through it. Thanks for bearing with me. :)

I agree. I liked the old group better. I guess we have to remember that when we can't talk face to face things can get misread. Maybe we all need to take time away. I went out to lunch with some friends and sat and talked for 3 hours. Good thing the restaurant wasn't busy. We sat outside and enjoyed the day. I didn't want to post the fact that we never did get another call from our sailor. I am sad about that and now just wait for him to email. I am going to go over and post what my husband did today. It was neat (at least I think so). Have a good night.

Pat, I guess that the sad news about the extension is hitting some hard. I'm saying a prayer for you to be strong for ladies like me who depend and greatly appreciate your expertise. A good nights rest will be good. I'm going to bed now, too. It's been along day. Hope to "see" you site tomorrow. Take care.

Hi, I haven't been on this site in a while. After my mom passed away in jan my grandmother followed her in march and then we found out my uncle had lung cancer and he passed on in July. It's been a rough year for us. John had put in 2 orders for Tinker and 1 for Hawaii but who ever was suppose to turn them in didn't so he had to request new ones and the jobs in Tinker were taken. I was so mad! He wasn't real happy either but what can you do?
The good news is he will be home on Sept 17th, next week!
Staying until oct 3rd and I am jumping out of sking waiting I'm so excited! 2 years is a long time not to see him.
He will be going to Guam in Jan for 3 years though and I won't get to see him all that time. I googled the place where he is going in North Guam on the HSC 25 aircraft carrier and saw the helicopters he will be working on. It looks pretty cool. I'd love to see a carrier myself but don't think I ever will. I'm trying to figure out how to get a care package to him with me in it but he says with a laugh that he will send it back.
I'm gonna have to get him good when he gets home for that comment! He is going to drive his truck with his 4-wheeler here in Dec to store them and take his Harley with him. My husband wants the Harley here for his use because he's always wanted one but can't afford it. Men and their toys!
I'm glad to be able to interact with other moms and hope all the Navy guys and girls are safe and happy!
Good luck and its wonderful to hear everyones stories and see the pix of them and their families. I need to put some pix up myself as soon as I can figure it all out. I'm not too good at that but my daughter will help me. She's taught me everything I know about computers.
And my 3 grandsons are soooo excited that ' uncle John in the Navy ' is coming home! They are two, four and six. John will actually be home to celebrate Dillons 7th birthday and Dillon is very happy!

My son said he thought they were over manned and he would probably sent somewhere else.....I hope not....I would rather you be correct, it would be cool to be flown to meet the carrier where ever it is. I guess we will just have to wait (something I am trying to get used to)

Hey Pat,
Me again. I just tried to print a gate pass, but don't have the password. My daught-in-law (ex) got the packet from Tyler. Is that were the password would be? My son and I are in TX and she is in CT. How do we get a gate pass for a second car? Have you any idea?

Hey Pat,
Tell me more about the RN mom's group.
My grandson Tyler, graduates this Friday. I'm interested in how much walking I'll need to do from parking lot to the ceremony (I have one recent total knee replacement, and the other knee is now in need of that, too). Also, are there parking fees? Any other tips for that day? Guess we won't know until then when he will leave for Pensacola. I keep forgetting to ask wher your daughter is now and how she's doing.
