Hi Pat, I am fine. Thanks! I haven't heard anything from Connie. I suggested we communicate at the beginning of the project but never heard anything.
Just to let you know. I am on track with the 25 goody bags I committed to. I am getting them into boxes and ready for mailing.

Hi Pat,
Thanks for the welcome to NavyMoms. I'm looking forward to being a part of this community. My son is in boot camp right now. Although we just found out he is in accelerated boot camp so he will be graduating before the end of the year instead of in January. I can't wait to see him!

Hello Pat: How are you doing? I don't want to rush you but I don't want my boxes sent late, can you email me with an address as to where and on what date do I need to mail.

I found Navy Mom in the Boot Camp group. You're right, she probably deleted the first discussion and started another in a more appropriate area. And someone else in the group said their box came by fedex. I found a group of mom with kids in the same ship and div as my son. This will be great!! Thank you for all your help!!

Hi Pat, we finally got a mailing address! Can you tell me whether the "kid in a box" box will come by mail or like UPS? And did you find out anything about the missing discussion? Thanks for the help!! Billie

Oh, and to answer your other questions, someone else started the discussion I think it was titled "Arriving 10/27/09 at Great Lakes anyone else have a son arriving this week? Ship-09-Div-030?" Her name is Navy Mom in MA-Ship-09/Div-030. I've looked for her but I can't find her.

Well, I guess he is fine. No news is good news right? We heard from him when he got there, the "I'm here, I'm fine, I love you, gotta go" call. And then the next evening, he called because they needed our physical address. For the "kid in a box"? Does it come by USPS or UPS? We just called his recruiter and he said it would be sometime next week before we would get his ship and div #. I saw some of the posts on here that they said they got it the next day, from the recruiter. I guess we have to wait because of the weekend?? I just hope he is OK, this is so hard not knowing. And yet, I know it is much harder on him. Do you know whether he might have in his group, any of the kids that were sworn in at the same time? They all left together and got there together, do they stay together or do they get divided up? Thanks for the help, Pat, I really appreciate it. Billie

Hi Pat, I don't know if you remember me, you gave me a very nice welcome when I signed up. That was a while ago, probably July. We were waiting for our son to go to boot camp, and it has finally happened. anyway, I came back onto the site to get some answers, I commented on a discussion from a mom whose son left the day before mine did. Now I can't find the discussion. There were several comments added after mine, I got notices through email, but when I click on the link in my email, it does not go to a specific comment. And when I look for the discussion I can't find it.

Thanks, Pat! This has been a tough week! But I know it is a lot harder on him! My son, Derek, will be a Master at Arms. They tried to talk him into all kinds of other jobs, like Nuke field, but he is thinking he eventually wants to be in the FBI so MA is what he is sticking with. So you have two children in! That Great! Go Navy!

Hi Pat!! Thanks so much for the warm welcome. This site has been a life line for me .. first time away from home for my son. It makes feel that I am not alone. My son David will be going on to Nuke school after basics. He is very excited about it and so are we. I know that he will be fine and eventually so will I, "Time heals everything". Thank you

Thanks so much for the welcome. Katy actually signed me up to join this site in July, but as she just swore in Tuesday I hadn't found a reason to log in. Thank you also for the invite to the moms of daughters group, now I'll just have to figure out how to join. :) Take care and best of luck to both of your sailors.

Hi Pat
Today I am finally on the mend. Going to work on some more Chistmas cards this weekend. I will be able to get the cards out on time. This flu is awful. Even harder with Asthma. T

Hi Pat
I was wondering what is the LATEST date I can send my Christmas Cards to the USS Chosin. I am still pretty sick. Hopefully I will get better by the weekend.

Thanks Pat. My first son left for the Navy on Sept 11th 2006 right out of highschool. He is Master at Arms serving in Virginia Beach, Va. The second twin son just signed up on Oct 22nd and is leaving May 10, 2010.
He will be Special Ops. Currently he is training here in Ohio!
