I talked to Tye on Saturday. He did get his orders last week. His orders are to report to Gulfport, MS on 4/11. So I'm guessing he will be on leave 3/28-4/10. He said his batallion will be station in Japan around August (he THINKS!) He also said there is a detachment from his batallion heading to Guam around the same time. I think he's hoping he gets included! I hope so too. I told him to ask the CO what he can do to get sent to Guam! I would like to visit there! Excellent diving and scuba opportunities there. Has your sailor gotten his orders? If so, where is he headed?
Our sailor's are hilarious! My son THINKS everything too! He originally THOUGHT his graduation was 3/20 and after my daughter bought her plane ticket he THOUGHT his graduation is 3/27! Needless to say...my daughter is very upset with him and so am I. We'll see if he actually takes leave after graduation. I guess it depends on what he's THINKING!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one on this ship sailing to NOWHERE! Funny :)
I grew up in VA, then moved to Wisconsin, then SC and now back in VA. So far I haven't lived or worked in NC! My son joined the navy last summer and his PIR date from great lakes was 12/5. My son is talking about taking leave after graduation at Port H (3/27). I hope he gets it. He said he has been placed in "holding" every time he transfers so I hope he gets his leave. I haven't seen him since last July. I really miss him. Does your son know where he will be heading next?
ok this is too funny... I'm a HUGE Lucy fan, love the reruns, and I have this song on my page for my son too.... love the words! I just had to show my husband your page, he couldn't believe that someone else love Lucy as much as me.
Okay Shelia, I talked to my sister today. Her brothers-in-law Roger and Kevin were married to Lucy's second cousins, Julie and Laura. Their father, Roger Ball is Lucy's first cousin - they graduated the same high school class. Julie's husband (Roger Seiberg) passed away with cancer. So no divorce. Nancie says Julie sounds like Lucy but when Laura puts her hair up see looks like Lucy. I am reading this from some cold notes and I can't read my own writing after a few minutes so.....

do anything for you let me know. My son is still in GL in A school, he will graduated
on Feb.20. Then on to C school he wants to get in the SWCC program and be their
corpsmen. He was home for the holidays so I have spent time with him lately. I love
my son but I can see now that he still has more growing up to do, after he was home for a while. And I 'm trying not to hold on to him so tight, with God's help I am getting there. Let talk again and if you are ever in my area give me a shout. I can email my number to you if you would like.
