Will be putting his picture up here in just a bit, have to scan it in. He's staying right there in Great Lakes for HT 'A' School. He moves over to the school tomorrow. I can't wait, I'm so excited for him!!!
Hey Judy, I'm doing ok. Got a call from Josh yesterday, he says he's fine, has a really bad case of sinusitis(could hear it when he talked), but says he's doing really well in boot. Then the next words out of his mouth were "send me more phone cards and all the numbers out of my phone", LOL. He's so funny.
Yes, you did find me, Judy!!! No, no picture, but only because I don't have any recent ones. Got a letter from Josh on Friday, he said to tell Shelly "hi" for him when you talk to her.
Hi Judy! I bet you're sooo soooo soooo excited! Only nine days now! If it works for you, and you are interested, please contact Valorie and see if it is possible to coordinate an Olive Garden dinner. I'm available on a weekend, but not so much on a weekday - it's a four hour rountrip for us and I think we are just too old for staying out that late on a school night anymore. We don't bounce back like we used to. Oh, I am getting so excited for you - I can't wait.
Judy - there is a Kitsap Bangor group you can click to it on my page - we do keep it somewhat private - just click to join and tell us a bit about you and your sailor - marie will get you in and we can maybe get you in touch with others in the same situation
Oh Good, Well, they really do need more lady MA's. I am sure the girls are outnumbered in "that" field, hopefully the base as a whole has more girls, Ladies. I certainly understand your concern.
grrrr? sorry, didn't mean to offend you. I have been trying to reach out to New Moms because each time we faced a new place with Daniel I had so many questions, and Bangor was very hard. Since he has been there for awhile he's a good person to answer questions. No he's not a girl, just a kind and experienced sailor
we just took our house off the market, and are going to refinance instead. Buy a lake lot in the Mt's. and build on it when it's time to retire. LOL, hide away. Its on Lake Adger near tryon, hendersonville, columbus. the closet town is a tiny one called Mill Springs. Any of these near you?
I am like Shelley and HATE same ole everyday jobs. That's why I was a nurse. Never a dull moment and stuff changing all the time. Good thing about the Navy, she can change jobs in two yrs. Tell her to get with the career councelor and figure out what else would appeal to her.
don't be such a stranger! Sunny
sorry I seem to have misunderstood. I would have loved the drive out west, not so sure with the snow this time of year. Well, she must have really wanted that car to pay that much for it.
Does she not like anything about that base Judy? The reason I ask is I did alot of research for Mitch, and that was so highly touted as one of the best stations. I think he is going for Oceana, I wish he would go further away from the girlfriend, but I have had my say and need to shut up on that one. LOL.
good to hear from you, how r you other than this upset? How much snow did you get? we got about 3" here north of raleigh. Had fun playing in it, but look forward to the 70's Mr. weatherman promises this wk-end.
I was in Ga last week, babysitting grand kids. It was fun, then Dennis and I took a couple days for ourselves. Nice drive and great weather. We got lucky.
tell me what else you're up to! Sunny
wow, she would have been driven if she were mine. That's alot of Money outta my pocket. Mitch would have paid for it himself, or driven it out. Did she get to come home between Meridian and Wash. Judy? I think I remember she did.You two could have driven out and then you could have flown back for alot less huh???
Really sorry!
WOW, Shelley coun't find out who to talk to about that car. That's tough. I think I told you about Dawn Russel right? Her daughters car was shipped to Hawaii. I think you have to learn how to deal with the red tape...me too. BUT really it's Mitch and Shelley that need to learn.
I have found when Mitch has a question, I ask Hoppi, and then she tells me who to have Mitch ask at Meridian. I have also informed him I am NOT paying his bills or sending him money so he better learn how to save a bit back. LMAO I think the month of a week of Peanut butter and jelly and NO trips off base taught him well. ROFLMAO, he was miserable!
I have heard wonderful things about the base in Wash. Give her some time, encourage her to make friends and give up the cigarettes ( I am still not smoking with the chantix and it is SO hard) It takes a while to get use to the cooler temps. Even here in NC Mitch had to adjust in the winter when we moved from Fl. and he hated it. LOL.
Maybe if you did a little tourist research and send it to her? I would encourage her to stay on base as it sounds like money is tight and they have a great singles club there and with man to woman odds like that she will always have a person to dance with? LOL.
At least there is much more to do than there was at Meridian. I am trying for positive here, LOL. sorry Shelley is so sad, but maybe as she adjusts she will like it better. You know, it helped Mitch to have her there at first, maybe it would be good to have one of these Moms hook her up with a friend?? I'm really sorry kiddo! Sunny
Is there anything we can do to help Shelly? I know Daniel helped Tory out, their texting each other, does Shelly need someone to talk to who has been there awhile, I can ask Daniel, he's very kind
Just saw your comments on the group page. What's up with Shelly? If you want to send me a private message that's OK. I have some info to fill you on also.

Hi, My new friend Marie started a Bangor, Bremerton, Kitsap group for us Moms of sailors stationed there, ( at my suggestion He He) and now I am following her around trying to connect with Moms. Let me know if you are one of them. My son is at Bangor
Hello Judy,
Well I'm glad she got her car. It can be such a challenge trying to help our kids out long distance. Maybe now that she has the freedom to move around more hopefully she'll be a little happier with her surrondings. Catherine is still unhappy with her work and I'm at a loss on how to help her. How is Shelly doing? Anna
