Hi! Just have had a busy summer. On my way to Pensacola to see my sailor before he heads for his first command. All is well. How about with you and yours?
Hey there Crystal . . . it was great to get to meet you, I appreciate you coming down, especially in your 'limited' time here in AZ:)! I really enjoyed meeting you and Jessie . . . GIANT HUGS:)!
Hi Crystal, During boot camp at GL my son Trevor had an infected cyst and had to have surgery on it. The experience made boot camp all that much more difficult for him. That was over 2 years ago, no Navy Moms then, and I barely heard about it until it was over. He's just had a recurrence of that again in San Diego (thank goodness they are not deployed now) and back in surgery and hospital. My experience is that the Navy takes good care of their own. If he hasn't already, have him sign a release so you can talk with the doctors if you need to...once they are 18 and adults privacy rules forbit them giving information out to moms...a rude awakening when we are just trying to let go of our children and being so used to knowing what is going on with them. I hope Chris is doing well. Judy in Glenwood Springs
Hi Crystal, This is really going to sound off the wall, but I have one son in the Navy stationed in California and one son who is currently living in Golden, and working 3 part time jobs in Boulder. He is a recent graduate with a degree in Recreation and is having a hard time finding a full time job in Colorado. He has always wanted to live there and did his last internship there and would love to stay. Hey, I am trying all angles to see if anyone might know of someone hiring around there. YMCA/Parks and Rec/ anything full time.
I just thought I would ask, because us Navy moms stick together and you just never know who might know someone who knows someone. Thanks, Jody

I read all your postings about your sons situation. I have talked to Maggie and I offered to help her in anyway I can. I understand that you wish you could be here for him and all.....I'm sure Navy will take good care of him and moms in IL will always be here for you and your son.
Please let me know if you have any Navy questions and such.
Yes, I'll be there and I'll look for you. I went to one of the (almost) monthly sew-ins that Linda runs on Sundays in Boulder. I was able to watch how the various garments are adapted. It's not hard, but they are particular about how things should be done. Once you've shown that you know how to do it, you can mail the clothing in. It's really great. See you later!
Welcome aboard!! Hooray you found the Colorado Moms site. I am soo glad that you joined. I always try to greet all the new Colorado moms and invite them. It is always neat when I click on a new member and they have already found the CO group.
Love you blog about Chris. It is soo true. My son just got home yesterday from A school. He leaves in 2 weeks for C school in San Diego. This is the first time I have seen him in his dress blues as he graduated in June. Wow what a site!! Then when he starts talking and I can hear all the great stories and I know that he is where he is supposed to be-it makes it all worthwhile!!
What will Chris be doing in the Navy and how did you find out about the site?
What a beautiful thought you have about your son. I know I'll make it through bootcamp because of inspriation like that from the other Navy Moms here who have gone before.
Thanks.
Dawn
