Hi Julie!
I saw your post on the Corpsmen moms page and I just wanted to say hi, especially since my fiance is graduating from A school on the same date =]! how is your daughter doing so far?
Hi Julie,
our son completed A school at GL in Sept....it is soo much better than Basic! The only down side was 'watch' once a month on weekends...but once they were in the civilian clothes phase and were able to leave on weekends life was much more normal. THe dorm rooms a decent -- 2 to a room -- 2 rooms share a bathroom. The food is good -- and the final week the kids all return to Boot camp and take blood, etc. very interesting. We loved being able to speak to our son whenever at night -- since he had a cell phone.
Best wishes for the new year!!
Julie, Congrats on your daughter!! I'm sorry but I haven't spoken with Mark since he got into "A" school. I can tell you, I would bet he loves it!! Mark has told us the hardest part of all of this is the fact that he is away from family. He is married and has a 5 month old son. His father is about to have open heart surgery also. I found out yesterday he will be home on the 19th for the holidays and i am sure I will get a world of info then and I will share whatever I can! Happy to meet you and congrats on your daughter!
