Hi Stephanie - how are things upstate these days? Is it just AWESOME having our boys back on US soil again? Has Ryder been home on leave yet? Danny comes home July 2nd. I am so out of the loop since we got back from Norfolk - my job has gone absolutely NUTS and I haven't had time for ANYTHING, so I am trying desperately to catch up with everyone now (my boss is out of the office until Monday). Write back if you get a chance and let me know how things are in your world!!! Have a great day!
Hi Stephanie, this was sent via email to me. If you want to email me at db28hill@verizon.net I can give you more info. "Counting down" Bren

Stephanie, I just read your post about making flight reservations from DFW to ORF, I have found that American Airlines has the best prices for the dates in question. Stay away from those NOT so cheaper flights and services. I have not booked ours yet but will in a few weeks. We go ahead and get our room booked and a vehicle reserved. These two would be easier to cancel if things were to change and I do pray that they do not! But the flights will be costly to change and that is the reason for the wait time on them. Good luck.

Hi Stephanie it's nice to meet you. My son Kyle is on the Nimitz. He just left Great Lakes in Jan., he is in awe at the ship. It looks like your son is on a carrier also. I read someplace there is a family day coming up in March. Have you been on one? I am interested in going on one, I would have to go alone, which scares me. But it would be fun I'm sure, I've only flown one time and that was with other family members. I see you work with ebay, that sounds interesting. Take care.
Hi Stephanie, thanks for the invite. Gee, I hope it wasn't my son that got into trouble.....he has a temper sometimes....lol I really doubt that it was....but you never know.
I am glad that Ryder keeps in touch with you.
Take care and keep in touch...Deb
Hi Stephanie, Thank you for inviting me to be your friend!! I love all your pictures.
Jeff is my son and sailor...he's a newbie. Just arriving in early December. I did have him home fresh from A school at Thanksgiving, but sure crazy missed him at Christmastime. he's only been gone for a short time, it seems like a life time. jeff graduated from high school in June and a month later set sail for GL he is my only child.
Jeff is a Yeoman for the VAQ-141 Shadowhawks. He does all the paperwork for the crew.
Have you heard from Ryder lately? happy 2009!!
Carol
Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for adding me to your list or friends. It's nice to have someone close to home. I see Ryder has been in for a year now. How is he liking it? My son has PIR Jan 23. We are driving up for it. Happy New Year!

Hi Stephanie, good to hear from Big D. I recently became a grandmother also. Michael's baby was born in Norfolk Nov. 28. He was on the phone with her during the delivery. I was so glad that the navy let him do that. Haven't seen that baby but he is a cutie. My daughter is expecting a baby in April. Her husband will be in Iraq at that time with the army. This military thing is new to our family...
I love the Texas ornament you left on the Roosevelt site! I'm a new part-time Texan, and now with more snow falling here, I'm wishing I were there tonight even though it is pretty. Merry Christmas!
Thanks, Stephanie for your invite. My husband and I are exhausted but rejoicing in the birth of our first grandchild this morning at about 2:30 am. She came about five weeks earlier than expected, is a tiny 5lb.1oz. but beautiful, healthy and alert. I see you are a grandmother, also.
so he will b graduating bootcamp the 28? are u going ? we went through that in may so i am fairly new 2 this also. he is at great lakes? well if u go have a wonderful holiday and stay safe. michell
Just wonderful. I actually got to go to San Diego for the homecoming. Words cannot describe seeing his ship come in. It is a good thing I got to go out for the homecoming, since when he was home on leave, Joshua and another shipmate arrived on Thursday afternoon, we had dinner with some family. They drove to Austin that night, returned to Dallas on Sunday afternoon to leave to drive back to San Diego.
Don't be surprised if you go several weeks without getting emails. If they are running in what they call River City, there is no inbound or outbound communications.
My profile picture is from homecoming. It was taken just before I left to go to the airport.
