Thanks so much, Becky. I will definately take you up on that offer. Justin actually just called me. He's coming home this Sunday til the 27th (dates changed). Silly kid...I'd told him since his time was so precious he should buy his airline ticket (he flys free til age 24 because of my USAirways retirement). He said he wasn't going to buy a ticket when he can fly for free. The thing is he flys free but it's standby and there's not that many flights that we have out of SEA. I then told him that he should wear a uniform incase boarding gets tight and then they might 'sneak' him on since he's on leave. He doesn't want to do that either. Urgh...19 yr olds, he's got all this money in his checking account and spent $300 for his sisters bdays and $650 for us for xmas (bought us a 50" hdtv) but comes to the sensible stuff and no way. Oh well, getting anxious. Have a Merry Christmas!
yes, quite a few people were there. loads of stuff to pack. Ingrid had a baby shower too, I think. you're always missed, just know that. hope your son is fine. ours is now rumored to be deploying to the same place sometime next year. I guess since Whidby is a combined base with marines that they are sent to those places. so get ready to be my support system if that happens because I'm sure we'll have loads of questions. Justin is coming home for 2 weeks over Christmas. cannot wait! you all have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving!
My son is stationed at Whidbey Island and heading for his second time to Iraq and the 3rd time over there. I put in the search the new base he will be on and it came up with info about a yahoo group for the VP40. I clicked it and this is where it came. Do you kknow anything about the yahoo group?
Becky, I think you asked me yesterday what squadron Justin is in at Whidby. I asked him tonight and he said he's in VP46. That doesn't mean anything to me but maybe it does to your son. It was great seeing you yesterday. You really look good. Probably glowing because you've seen your son.
Becky, I didn't know your son is stationed at Whidby (or I did and have forgotten it). I found a site-thank you for directing me to it. So do you know what my son is talking about with this not being able to socialize with those at a higher rank than him? Did your son ever say that?
becky, one they go in the bunkers they have to stay for a cetain period. He will be fine. Let him tell you about it if he wants to, don't ask. Are you getting on skype with him too? hugs, he will be fine. They are safe on their base, SAFE!
Hi Becky, Alex's birthday is July 13. However he will be somewhere under water. He is on the submarine USS Miami. He can get short e-mail messages at loveas@miami.navy.mil He can only get short text messages. No pictures or attachments are allowed. I'm keeping Michael in my thoughts and prayers.

Becky, my heart goes out to you, I will be praying for Michael. My e-husband was in Iraq for almost three years. He was not military, he was working for a company. I will e-mail him and see what he can tell me about the base, if he knows. And Yes, I will send him a birthday card if you can get the address, it would be my pleasure.
