Hi Leslie, Just wanted to touch base with you - all is well here. Bryan is into actual GM school now (after finishing up SCC and ATT) and has started a new duty with the son of one of my NFM friends - I love that we were able to 'hook them up' as it's something that he might not have had the opportunity to do otherwise:)!
He'll be coming home for two weeks at Christmas and then should finish A School sometime in Jan/Feb . . .
Hope all is well with you and yours . . . I think about you often:)! GIANT HUGS:)!
Hi there and thanks for the hug:)! We're good . . . he's home until tomorrow night and will start school Monday. LOL - when he was little he LOVED to cook, he'd get a chair to stand on and nudge me out of the way saying "I be the chef-ez" . . . hee-hee:)!
I'm glad you're going to see Mike - they generally get 'off' a little earlier on Fridays and the duties they're given can usually be swapped so he'd be able to spend lots of time with you. They'll be touring the facilities, learning/reviewing routines and 'settling in' before beginning Indoc . . . then they concentrate on the proper (and safe) way to do all the evolutions. Have him go over all his uniforms and clip any and all loose, hanging or frayed threads from the seams, pockets, buttons, etc. Just one of the many things the instructors look for during personal/uniform inspection every Monday.
I'm right here during this next step (and beyond) . . . thanks for keeping me in the loop:)! HUGS to you, blessings and prayers for the guys:)!
Good Morning Leslie:)! What a nice thing to do with your sister - I'm sure you'll both enjoy it:)!
I'm trying to finalize transport for his buggy, which will make it much easier for him to take care of errands. He called his dad yesterday to wish a Happy Father's Day and was standing in line to pick up his dry-cleaning (with 53 other guys) for inspection today. I wonder if I'll hear how that goes, hee-hee:)! He told me he can stay at the hotel, so I'll call on arrival and pick him up before going to check in.
I know that it won't be enough time, but it will be special time:)! Hugs to you:)!
Good Morning:)! Hope you are having a WONDERFUL day:)!
Just wanted you to know I'm thinking about you, will you be at the CA Beach get-together next week? I'm coming out to SD and will come up to be there! I'd love to meet you in person:)!
Hugs:)!
I am so glad you got the whole weekend - that's wonderful:)!
Mine called yesterday, he passed the PT assessment (of which there really was no doubt) and is on schedule for June 12th. I'll be making my plans to get him his car the weekend of June 20 and will keep you posted:)! Have a GREAT day:)!
Hi there, Hope you had a WONDERFUL time and a pleasant trip back. I'll probably be in CA for the BBQ . . . I'm trying to arrange to get Bryan his car and hope it'll come together for that weekend:)!
I missed you guys:)!
I wanted to say congratulations! I hope that you guys have a terrific time! I really hope that it was all that you expected it to be. Most important of all...now you can hug your son!
HI,
I hope that you are getting excited! You will absolutely love it! It looks like you have got a great support system on here! I can't wait to hear all about it!
Thank you for your kind note! I of course want Shaun to be happy, but honestly if he finds something in SAR, and stays there , I would not be disapointed. What a journey we have under taken. Yes it is uder the kind Lords contol and that is what makes it all ok. I know you are very proud of Mike and I think when we see our sons again, they will be different. Grown up and sronger, more certain of themselves.I am grateful for that and just hope I don't fall into trying to babying him. I know he would not like that,so say a prayer for me, ok? Are you going to the Pre PIR party? I am looking forward to it, and hope to see you there. It's great our guys won the Captain's Cup, so great, but I could not find out anyhing about it. I know it was a fun event-don't they deserve it? I hope they have more fun this week. Whew what a relief, this wil be a good, no great week. And at the end- our babies-oops! ourSailors
Anytime! I look forward to the day we'll get to meet in person and I appreciate the spiritual support you've given me, you always remind me to have faith - Thank you:)!
Hmmm - that kinda surprises me, for a couple of reasons. Bryan didn't get his official orders until the Sunday after his PIR, and some of those who had PIR a couple of weeks ago have been told they won't go until August. Also Bryan said that there are 159 scheduled to go and how could they have that specific a # if it includes guys that aren't there (on the Navy side) yet? Did he say if his orders were written or just a verbal announcement?
I'm glad you heard from him and they have a chance to relax a bit. Maybe there's a few of them who could work out together - start to get back in shape? I don't know what the set-up is for extra PT, or if it's even allowed, but if so it could get him a head-start. Let me know if you hear any more - and I'll do the same:)! Hugs:)!
I just found your awesome prayer! Very nice! WOW! I was also praying for our boys. And it is so nice to know you brought yours to the site. So much is behind us now -and -also ahead of us. What a journey! I believe we have successfully completed our first step!
Bryan didn't call until about 4 in the afternoon. They finished up around 10:30 in the morning but still had their 'day job' (hee-hee) so by the time they were able to call it was much later . . . Let me know as soon as you hear:)!
Hi!!
It is so good to hear from you! I am glad that Mikes is doing so well! That is really great news. I wish you well on your journey to PIR. It is truly a wonderful experience. An emotional roller coaster that you will want to relive time and time again!
I hope that you can make it to the BBQ. So many are far away it is difficult for them to make it. I would love to meet you and so would Robin! I am heading out to Texas to meet with those Moms the end of June and then I am going back to GL to see Bryan to celebrate the Fourth of July with him and some of the other Navy Families.
Take care and let us know how PIR goes! I took tissues, but never took them out. I just kept wiping my face with my hands! My older daughter caught me in the middle of the ugly cry! You can hear on the audio where she says..I am looking for Mom, Oh there she is...crying again!
Hey!
How are you! It has been a long time since we talked! I hope all is going well. Have you gone to PIR yet? I was thinking it would be around right now more or less. Let me know how it is going. I can't wait to hear everything!
Kimberly
